This
one on the 6th day of April eighteen hundred and eighty seven,
I SAMUEL BROWN of the county of Wythe, State of Virginia, being
of sound mind and memory, do hereby make and publish this my last
will and testament in manner and form following, that is to say:
1.
It is my will that JOHN ALFRED BLESSING my son in law, and ELIZA
JANE BLESSING my daughter agree to take good care of me Samuel
Brown and take good care of my beloved wife NANCY MELVINA BROWN
so long as we or either of us may live and said John Alfred Blessing
and Eliza Jane Blessing are to be at all necessary expences for
us to render us comfortable & well cared for as long as we
both live and in the event of sickness of either of us, they are
to have furnished to us both of us and all funeral expenses necessary,
that is to say in connection with funeral
expences he is to good nice marble tombs stones to my son
RUFUS CAMERON (?) BROWN who has been dead for some years past,
also marble tombs
for FlORENCE BROWN my son Rufus's wife who has been dead for since
June: the said John A. Blessing & Eliza Jane Blessing after
my death and my beloved wife's death are to pay over to my children
as follows; namely Eldest
son ALFRED BROWN who lives in the state of Tennessee one hundred
dollars lawful money & SARAH CATHERINE EPPERSON, who lives
in the state of Tennessee
my eldest daughter, one hundred dollars lawful money, MARY ELIZABETH
CRIGER who lives in Wythe county Virginia one hundred dollars
lawful money, JOSIAH BROWN my 2nd son one hundred dollars lawful
money, Josiah lives in the state of Illinoise. My 3rd son ROBERT
S. BROWN one hundred dollars lawful money, who lives in the state
of Missouria, said John A. Blessing & Eliza Jane my daughter
is to pay all just debts that I owe.
3rd.
It is my will if the above requests are lived up two and compliant
with fully, I will and devise bequeath to my daughter Eliza Jane
Blessing or her heirs for ever all of my real estate, the former
on which I now live with all the appertenances of which I
am now owner and in the event my beloved wife does live
after my death, that I bequeath to my wife she has full rite and
possession of all my house hold and kitchen furniture and other
items not particular named and other wise disposed of in this
my will during her said life, further I will that beloved wife
shall have in the event she out lives me, she is to have a good
room on the ground floor of my house. The foregoing and above
will is my own deliberate act and will. Signed and sealed the
6th day of April
eighteen hundred and eighty seven.
