FAIRBANKS, EDWARD T., son of Joseph P. and Almira TAYLOR FAIRBANKS,
born May 12, 1836, graduated at Yale, class of 1859. After two years in
Andover Theological seminary, and two and a half years abroad, he became
acting pastor for one year at Chester, Vermont. On New Year's day, 1868,
he was ordained pastor of the First Congregational church, St. Johnsbury
Center. Six years later, January 30, 1874, he became pastor of the South
church, St. Johnsbury, which position he held for twenty-eight and a half
years. He is now librarian and director of the St. Johnsbury Athenaeum.
