Ebenezer Wright

Addison County, Vt ~February 1805


       Know all men by these presents that I Jehiel of Addison the County of Addison and state of Vermont for and in consideration of the sum of three thousand and three hundred and thirty three Dollars Current money of the united states received in full to my satisfaction of EbenezerWright of Addison County and State aforesd the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge have given granted bargained and Sold and by these presents do give grant bargain sell aliene convey and confirm unto him the said Ebenezer his heirs and assigns forever a certain tract or Parcel of Land lying and being in the Township of Addison (viz) one hundred and Twenty Eight acres of the Second
Division of the right of Rev. Josiah Cotton the undivided of the same right forty four acres of the second Division of James Olmsted also seventeen acres of a fourth Division and the undivided of the same right also again fifty acres of a third Division of the said abuted

       To have and to hold the above granted and bargained premises with all Privileges and appurtenances there of and thereto belonging whom the said Ebenezer his heirs and assigns to his and their own proper use benefit and Behoof of forever and I the said Jehiel do for my self my heirs Executors and Administrators covenant to and with the said Ebenezer his heirs Executors Administrators and assigns that at and until the Insealing of these presents I am well seized if the premises in fee simple that I have good right and lawful authority to bargain and sell the same in manner and form as is above written that they are free and clear of all Incumbrences and that I will warrant and Defend the same against all lawful claims and Demands of any Person or persons whatever

       The E____ condition of the above obligation is such that of the said Jehiel shall will and truly furnish the said Ebenezer Wright his wife with good and wholesome Diet and wearing appereal which shall be Decent and Every way provide for each and both of them both in sickness & health and likewise provide and furnish them whenever they may call therefore good horse saddle and bridle During Each and both their existence on the above sd Premises and furthermore he the sd Jehiel Wright is to buy or cause to be paid unto his four Brothers to wit Asahel WrightEbenezer Wright junr Daniel Wright & Caleb Wright Two hundred Dollars each in Meat cattle or cash with what they have already received out of their Fathers Estate and further the said Jehiel shal pay or cause to be paid unto his several Sisters to wit Rebeckah Marihugh [sp?] Polly Ra---s   Lucy Wright Almire Wright Mirande Wright  Lydia Wright and PhebeWright one hundred Dollars each with what they have already received out of their Fathers Estate the above payments to be made within six years after the said Ebenezer Decease – to the heirs of the sd Ebenr or to their heirs and further I the sd Ebenr do agree that if the said Jehiel Doth fulfill above Ingagements in every perticular then the sd Jehiel is to be Intitled to the said stock that I the said Ebenr now owns and possesses & likewise the farming utensils that I now own and only the whole of which is valued at three hundred and fifty four Dollars but on failure of the above agreement on the part of the sd Jehiel he is to have no right nor title hereto all of which agreement well and truly Done by the sd Jehiel Wright his heirs or assigns then this obligation is to be null and void otherwise to stand and remain in full force and virtue in Law

       In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 14th Day of February AD 1805
