Corinth Corners, Corinth Center, East Corinth,
South Corinth, West Corinth
town was chartered June 7, 1763, and originally contained thirty-six square
miles. On the 27 of October 1794, the north-east part of Huntington was
annexed to it. The first settlers were Noah Dewey, Peter Dilse, James Moore,
Thomas Palmer, Robert Stinson, and John and Robert Kennedy . . . The town
is very mountainous and broken, and but a small part of it capable of being
settled. Winooski River runs through he town from east to west, and along
the banks of this stream nearly all the inhabitants reside."
