Gambell School Barnard VT
HOST:
Carol Chezan, first generation Californian
My ancestors were in Barnard from the 1790's until the 1930's
and before that in Massachusetts or Canada. After a trip to Barnard in
1992, I became interested in genealogy. This town of about 500, in 1992,
was like a movie scene. Its country store across the street from a lake
that glistened with reflections of a white church on a small hill. I went there
in search of a school house said to have my family name of Gambell. We
found the Gambell School (see picture above). I plan to share my research with you and hope it will
further your genealogical endeavors. I am currently looking at films of
original town records.
I will be sharing parts of "The History of Barnard
Vermont" By William Newton, with the permission of The Vermont
Historical Society. It holds a wealth of information within its pages.
