Cemeteries

It has come to my attention that several of the following cemeteries were at some point known by different names and in a different location. I am attempting to clear this matter.

To make the values compatible with many GPS Trackers, coordinates have been recalculated to decimal degrees.

Button Cemetery

From Tunbridge village go south on VT Route 110 about 3 miles and turn left onto Button Hill Road. Go up Button Hill Road about 1/2 mile. The cemetery is on the right.

Dickerman Hill Cemetery

From Tunbridge village go north on VT Route 110 about 3-1/2 mile. Turn left onto Dickerman Hill Road and go about 3 miles. Turn left onto Angell Road and go about 1/4 mile. The cemetery is on the right.

Drew Cemetery

From Tunbridge village go north on VT Route 110 about 1/4 mile and turn right onto Strafford Road just before you cross the highway bridge. Go about 1/10 mile on Strafford Road and keep to the left at the fork of Strafford Road and Drew Road. Go about 1-1/4 miles to Hoyt Hill Road. Turn right onto Hoyt Hill Road and go about 9/10 mile to Taylor Road on the right . Turn onto Taylor Road and go about 1/2 mile. The cemetery is in the woods on the right.

Durkee Cemetery

From Tunbridge village go north on VT Route 110 about 3 miles. The cemetery is on the left and is beside the road.

Hunt Cemetery

From Tunbridge village go north on VT Route 110 about 4-3/4 miles. The cemetery is on the right and is beside the road.

Hutchinson Cemetery

The GoogleEarth map shows the cemetery labeled as the Tunbridge Village Cemetery. The real Tunbridge Village Cemetery is to be found just south of Tunbridge village. GoogleEarth is showing the Hutchinson Cemetery .

From Tunbridge village go south on VT Route 110 about 3/4 mile. Turn right onto Howe Lane and go about 500 feet to the cemetery. The cemetery is on the right. The cemetery was also listed as "Town Dis No 1".

Hutchinson Lot Cemetery

The GoogleEarth map shows the cemetery labeled as the Riddall Cemetery. The real Riddall Cemetery is to be found on Taylor Road. GoogleEarth is showing the Hutchinson Lot Cemetery .

From Tunbridge village go south on VT Route 110 about 3/4 mile. Turn right onto Howe Lane. The cemetery is at the intersection on the right and is lower than the road. There are three stones surrounded by a chain link fence.

Kelsey Mountain Cemetery

The easiest approach is from East Randolph. From the East Randolph Post Office, go south on VT Route 14 about 2-3/4 miles. Turn left onto Dugout Road and go about 8/10 mile to a "T" intersection. Turn left onto Kelsey Mountain Road. The cemetery is on the left.

An alternate approach is from Tunbridge village. Go north on VT Route 110 to Spring Road on the left. Turn left and follow Spring Road about 3 miles to the intersection of Monarch Hill Road. Turn left and go about a mile to the intersection of Kelsey Mountain Road on the left. Turn left onto Kelsey Mountain Road and go about 2-4/10 miles. The cemetery is on the right.

From Tunbridge village go north on VT Route 110 about 3/4 mile and turn left onto Monarch Hil Road. Go about 0.6 mile. The cemetery is on the right and you'll see the sign first.

Mount Pleasant Cemetery

From Tunbridge village Go up Potash Road about 2-1/4 miles to the "T" intersection. Turn left onto Kibling Hill Road and go about 1-1/4 miles to Swayze Road. Turn left onto Swayze Road. The cemetery is on the left.

Ordway Cemetery

From Tunbridge village go south on VT Route 110 about 1/4 mile. Turn left onto Potash Hill Road and go about 2-1/4 mile to the crossroads. Go straight through about 1/4 mile to a "Y" intersection. Turn left onto Gilley Road and go about 9/10 miles. The cemetery is on the right.

Riddall Cemetery

Go up Potash Road about 2 miles to the "T" intersection. Turn left onto Kibling Hill Road and go about 1 mile to Taylor Road. Turn left onto Taylor Road and go about 1/2 mile. At this point the road will change from a Class 3 road to a Class 4 road (not maintained). At this point a 4 wheel drive vehicle or walking is recommended. After walking about 1/2 mile, the cemetery is on the right side of this section of road.

Smith Cemetery

From Tunbridge village go north on VT Route 110 about 1/4 mile and turn right onto Strafford Road just before you cross the highway bridge. Go about 3-3/4 miles on Strafford Road and turn left onto County Turnpike. Go about 6/10 mile to Bicknell Road. Turn right onto Bicknell Road and go about 1 mile. The cemetery is on the left.

South Tunbridge Cemetery

From Tunbridge village go south on VT Route 110 about 2-3/4 miles and turn right onto Russell Road. Go about 1/2 mile on Russell Road and watch for a metal gate on the left. The cemetery is beyond that gate. Lots have been sold but no burials yet.

Spring Road Cemetery

There are actually two Spring Road Cemeteries across the road from each other. From Tunbridge village go north on VT Route 110 to the "Y" intersection and bear left onto Spring Road. Go up Spring Road about 6/10 mile and the cemeteries will be visible on either side. The old cemetery is situated on a side hill to the east (right) and the new cemetery is beside the road to the west (left). Spring Road is paved.

Strafford Road Cemetery

From Tunbridge village go north on VT Route 110 about 1/4 mile and turn right onto Strafford Road just before you cross the highway bridge. Go about 2-3/4 mile on Strafford Road. Moody Road will be on your right. The cemetery is on the left side of Moody Road near the intersection.

Tunbridge Meeting House Cemetery

From Tunbridge village go north on VT Route 110 about 1/4 mile and turn right onto Strafford Road just before you cross the highway bridge. Go about 3/10 mile and turn left onto Recreation Road. Go about 8/10 mile past the Recycling facility to the end of the road. The cemetery is on the left and is on the bank of the First Branch of the White River.

Tunbridge Village Cemetery

The cemetery is located at the intersection of VT Route 110 and Potash Hill Road and is directly across from the Town Offices.

Ward Hill Cemetery

From Tunbridge village go south on VT Route 110 about 2-3/4 miles. Turn right onto Russell Road and go about 2 miles to a "T" intersection. Turn left and continue on Russell Road for another 6/10 mile. Turn right onto Ward Hill Road. Go about 1/2 mile. The cemetery is on the right about 100 feet off the road in some trees. There is a sign beside the road.

Whitney Hill Cemetery

From Tunbridge village go north on VT Route 110 about 2-1/4 miles and turn left onto Whitney Hill Road. Go up Whitney Hill Road about 2-1/2 miles. The cemetery is on the left.
