1870 Federal Population Census for Plymouth, Windsor County, Vermont
Taken between the dates of July 15th - 26th|
Index to all heads of household, and persons whose surname is different from that of the head of household they are listed with.
Index by Nancy Wygant, February 2002. THIS IS A ROUGH DRAFT. It needs a proofreader, preferably someone familiar with French Canadian names, as many of the folks whose names I was unable to decipher were from Canada. If anyone has access to this census and is willing to check my transcription, I would very much appreciate it! I have used brackets to indicate names, or letters within names, that are my best guess but doubtful, and asterisks in place of letters which were so unclear that I could not guess with confidence.
The page number is the original handwritten page number in the upper left hand corner, beginning with one at the beginning of the town; the sheet numbers are the stamped numbers added later in the upper right hand corner of odd-numbered pages.
Post office addresses:
Pages 1-3 and 13-29 are listed as PO Plymouth, Vt.
Pages 4-12 and 30-33 are listed as PO Tyson Furnace, Vt.
