I have an ancestor who testified in court that he filed a declaration of intention to become a citizen about 1838 in Franklin County. I cannot seem to find anything about naturalization records in Franklin County. Can you refer me to someone who might know if they exist?
Thanks,

I am researching the family of my grandmother, Winnifred Cordelia Jewell,
raised in Bradford, VT but born in Oacoma, SD dau. of Florence Prisk and
George Jewell, originally of St. Albans, VT.
George's father was Charles S. Jewell. I saw you've been researching
Parthena at migrations.org and I have a sneaking suspicion that Perthena
"C." may be the "Aunt Cordelia, the sharpshooter" my grandmother was named
for.

Am researching the Samson or Sampson families of Franklin County and a hamlet known as Samsonville between North Enosburg and East Berkshire.
My great grandfather was Daniel Wheeler Samson (8th) , born at St Albans , Vt 12-15-1835, removed to Onawa, Ia in 1857. His father was Alanson Samson (7th) who m. Rebecca Titus, and he was a Methodist Minister. His father was William Samson (6th) b. around 1770 m. Rhoda Titus. His father was William Samson (5th) b. 10-10-1733 m. Judith Merrill 11-1-1738 he died 11-11-1798 at Cornwall where he was involved with the Congregational Church. He had 10 Children all b. in Newburyport,Me or Ma.
What i really want to know who was William Samson`s (5th) father was? Am tryiny to tie them back to Henry Samson (1) of the 1920 Mayflower.
Can you throw and light on this? If not perhaps you can forward this to someone in Vermont who might be able to furnish me any info on this.
Also Can one find a family tree already done from Henry Samson, Mayflower, from a descendant, that might be already on record???
Robert, Andrew, Clark and Daniel OLIVER were 4 sons of Robert Oliver, Sr. & Lydia Gray, who resided in St. Albans and Bridport (Addison County) VT in 1785-1797. Many land deed transactions occurred from the above people. I am seeking information on Clark OLIVER, who married in St. Albans. Seeking children of Clark Oliver also. There is a Clark OLIVER who served in the Civil War, 10th Infantry from St. Albans and assume this is grandson to the Clark Oliver above. If any of these names are familiar to you, please correspond. Thank you.

I found that Joseph Norton b. circa 1787 and d. in Enosburg, Vt, date unknown can be found on Page 492 of the 1850 census-Franklin (Enosburg). Perhaps you can help to discover who the other people are listed with him and some vital statistics. I would most appreciate the help. I am feeling desperate that I shall never find out anything about him or his parent etc.. I think that his father's name is Charles and is uncertain about the first name of his mother.

I am looking for Joseph Norton b. February 22, 1787. He married we believe an Experience Cross b. July 31, 1813. Joseph was an older man as you can see and they had only 1 child Aaron Norton before Joseph died. We are not sure when Joseph and of course, how old he was.
Joseph's father and mother lived a short way from their farmland. Their names are Charles and Martha Norton. We do not know her maiden name nor any statistics on either their births or deaths.
They all lived in Enosburg, Vermont according to the Civil War records of Aaron Norton, but that doesn't mean that Joseph's father and mother didn't live in another section of Franklin Co., near Enosburg.
We do not know where they are buried, but we feel that they were EARLY SETTLERS having seen the inception date of Franklin County.
If you can help me, I would be most appreciative. I have been looking for my family for the past 9 years and have even written and paid to get some information on them, but the material sent could not possibly have been my ancestors. I am hoping that Vermont now has some Census records on-line, but I see that they do not. Perhaps you have a Vermont Census for 1870 or 1880. After that time, I feel this family has passed away and I know that Experience moved away to Michigan as we found her there with her second husband and 3 more children for she was a young woman.
Thank you

Silsbee according to 1850 New York Census, living in Bangor, Franklin County, New York. Sara's father is Danforth Patterson and his wife Hannah Aldridge probably from Vermont. Perhaps the Silsbee Families also lived in this area. There is no record of where the first Samuel Silsbee came from except a history book mentions him as the first poormaster of Bangor, and also recorded as one of the first men to establish a school for Bangor. Israel WALLER, b. abt. 1734 was in Royalton early, and died there 1798. His wife Anna BUFFINGTON died there 1826. They had sons John Curtis, Joseph, David who also settled in Vermont. John Curtis WALLER (m. Mary STEVENS and Priscilla SMITH) and Joseph WALLER (M. Lovey DURFEE, Octavia BOISE, Parthenia (ALVORD) TAYLOR)lived in Royalton and Enosburg. Joseph may have spent some time in Washington Co., NY. David (m. Sarah "Sally" _____)remained in Royalton. Presumably the name Curtis is a family name. Israel and Anna also had daughters Lorena (d. unmarried), Polly, Ann. They had a fourth daughter, Abigail Lydia, who was born 1769 Dutchess Co., NY. I believe her to be the same person as Lydia WALLER who m. Joseph ROWLEY of Pittsford and Enosburg. She spent her later years with David WALLER (presumably her son) of Fairfax. Israel may have been born in CT. Anna was reportedly from Topsfield, MA. They spent some time in Dutchess Co., NY where most of their children were born. I am looking for both the ancestors and descendants of this couple. I have been piecing together the Vermont WALLERS from the vital records, but still have some strays.
