Photo collection – Don Smith has completed a photo scanning project that resulted in scanning and restoring some 300 photos from the Historical Society collection. These photos can now be viewed on the web site.

Cemetery burials – Jim Dresser compiled a listing in 2006 and completing and updating it is planned. 10 of the 12 local cemeteries so far. Those listings are now available on-line. Deb Jurist submitted a list of Veterans in Groton cemeteries.Another project that has been discussed is the assigning of GPS coordinates for each of the Groton cemeteries and burial grounds.

Identifying 100+ year old buildings –An initiative to locate and identify historic buildings in Groton that are 100 or more years old will be undertaken this year. A committee of Deane Page, Dale Brown, Janet Puffer and Harold Puffer were assigned the task of getting the project underway. Harold has since passed away and his son Nathan volunteered to serve on the committee.
Family records –
Willard Benzie (families in 1790 census are on web site and those in 1800
census will be soon. There are 60,256 names and 21,673 families in the
computer file including ancestors and descendants of Groton families.
