Please help! This site is only as useful as you make it! Volunteers are needed in the following areas:
- Lookup Volunteers - If you have
- Index Volunteers - Are you willing to index the surnames of a local history? If you are - we will be glad to post them (and give you credit, of course).
- Transcribers - How about taking your daily walk through a local cemetery and transcribing it? Take a clipboard or a tape recorder - you'll be amazed at how interesting and enjoyable this project is.
- Obituary Posting - post the Washington County obits on the RootsWeb Board.
- Census Transcribers - If you would like to help transcribe Federal or State Census records for posting on the internet, contact the Census On-Line Project.
- If you are willing to do research in the local records for a fee, please email me and I will post that information here also.
Eight steps to a successful Lookup Request

Read this BEFORE you
request a lookup
- Please limit your request to one or two name or places per request.
- Only one lookup request from each reference source per month.
- Please put Washington County, VT Lookup in the subject line of your request to insure the message is not overlooked or accidentally deleted.
- In the first line of the message please put the name of the book you are requesting the lookup in.
- Keep your requests simple and only include enough information for the volunteer to find your ancestor, if they need more information they will request it from you.
- Our volunteers are doing this in their spare time to help you. Allow them sufficient time to do the lookup and remember that they work and have family lives just like you do.
- If you request a lookup, don't forget to thank your volunteer for their time.
- NOTICE: The publications on this page are under copyright by various sources. Our lookup volunteers will NOT give you everyone in a publication with a certain surname, or information on more than one or two names.
