Benton City, Benton, Washington



A short drive to the west of Richland, and nestled between Horse Heaven and Rattlesnake Hills, is the agricultural community of Benton City. Benton City is a small, close-knit community of about 2,700 residents. It's an easy communte to many areas and activities including - local wineries, the Tri-Cities, Yakima to the North, golfing, fishing, and many community sponsored events. The present irrigation system was built in the late 1930s and early 1940s, and changed the economy from one which was mainly dependant on raising sheep, to an agricultural community with irrigated orchards. Incorporated on July 2, 1945, Benton City is located on the banks of the Yakima River and invites all to enjoy its local beauty and hometown feel.
