Kiona, Benton, Washington
Kiona, which is an Indian word for "brown hills", is a small area neighboring West Richland and Benton City. This area is home to Horse Heaven Hills, which were originally known as Bedrock Springs and Columbia Plains, until an early Prosser bachelor, James Kinny, called the area Horse Heaven because of its abundant grass for the thousands of wild horses.
