It's possible Loren and his wife were divorced and she told the son he had
disappeared. If she remarried in 1930, that wouldn't have been enough time to declare
him dead legally, would it? I remember reading years ago that it took seven years.
I'm taking this from memory about my mom's first husband. The two boys were told their
dad was dead until he suddenly reappeared about 25 years later. They were divorced
in late 1928 probably. If he hadn't shown up and introduced himself, his sons would
never had known he was still alive.

There is a marriage for Loren E. Wood in Seattle in 1944. No middle name and no
dates available but it's a possibility that he just dropped out of sight and then decided
he wanted to make it legal with a girl friend.

I did hear from Ron Adams in California and he said Loren Wood isn't any of his kin -
he has a lot of Wood relatives.
Seems funny that he could just vanish. Several possibilities - unhappy marriage; bad
accident such as a car running off a cliff; railroad accident, etc. But surely there were
some stories in the papers about his disappearance. My aunt's friend (and possible
father of her son) was killed in a railroad accident in 1934 when he was squashed
between two railroad cars. There were stories about it.

Hamilton Co OH; her father was John Konrad HARTMAN. Sophia m. Bartholomew T.
MATHER 20 Aug 1819 in Cincinnati and d 10 Feb 1875 in Washington, Pettis Co MO.
2. Seeking the parents of Cornelius COOK b 1701 in Westborough, Worcester Co MA.
He m. Eunice FORBUSH 22 Aug 1727; Eunice was b. 13 Feb 1705. They lived in
Carrol Co NH. There was another Cornelius COOK living in NH at that time; MY
Cornelius had ch: Jonathan, Robert, Daniel, Cornelius, Stephen, Eunice, Mary,
Thomas, Sarah and Lydia. They were all born in Westborough MA between 1727 and
1743.
3. Searching for Loren Eugene WOOD who disappeared abt 1926 in Lewis Co WA; he
was living in Centralia at the time. Loren was b abt 1904 in WA and married Etta May
GALLOWAY 19 Oct 1925 in Pe Ell, Lewis Co., WA. In 1925 they were residing in
Frances, Pacific Co, WA. Loren was a railroad worker. Their son was born in 1926.
Loren's parents were Jim WOOD and Mary E. PRATT, both born in WY. Neither his
wife nor son (both now deceased) ever heard from him again.
