...III. Changes in Ordering Copies of Original Pension and Service Records from the National
Archives
Anyone who has ordered copies from NARA over the last ten months knows that our response
time, which was never less than four weeks, has been far worse. Some researchers have waited 16
weeks to hear from us. Most researchers, while very patient, think that is too long to wait. We
agree completely. It currently takes far too long to receive a response from us. We have made
changes in the process in conjunction with the recent fee schedule change that we believe will
speed the process.

He had a brother, William George. His grandson lives in U.S. in Oklahoma.
My grandfather's name was Arthur Sidney Welsh Elder and his father came from Scotland. He
married to Winifreda Bell arround 1906, in England."

Unusual Spanish/Argentina name of "Eduardo ELDER" in Oklahoma
was easy to find in Google.com:
Eduardo Elder (405) 447-8353

also in Google results for "Eduardo Elder":

... "project was designed by Eduardo Elder (Engineer) of ODOT's Roadway Design division. "

The researchers also looked at whether the Y chromosome-surname link could provide
information about historical rates of children born illegitimately. People with a rare surname are
very likely to be related as the surname is likely to have been adopted by only one or two men
initially, so anyone now sharing this surname but with a different Y chromosome to the majority is
likely to have an ancestor born illegitimately.

BRICKWALL PROJECT:
This is from our Education Director Glen Jones:
"A friend of my wife's brother was helping a friend whose father had died, this person was going
to throw out a bunch of photo albums and he retrieved them. they ask me if it would be possible
to locate descendants that might want them as none of the family here wants them.
Dates in the albums that I am looking at now go back to the early 1800's with the most recent
dates 1982.
The names are McAllister Family, Detroit Michigan graveyard photos 1982. Other names and
photos as well as birth and death notices in the albums are
David Dewar Thompson, 2 Mar 1908, 5 Oct. 1977 Born Aberdeen Scotland, Mother Mary L.
