FROM: PatB on DATE-Jul 1, 2010 2:59:32 GMT-DATE MESSAGE: We can do that Nancy. I can grab the transcript and post it - or leave it until morning and do it then. Which would be best? FROM: PatB on DATE-Jul 1, 2010 2:58:38 GMT-DATE MESSAGE: I think the only way anything can be found on the actual cause of Michael Wintler's death would be in a news story in a Portland paper. Or maybe we had a paper that was being published in Vancouver in 1880 - if so, it should have the story. FROM: Nancy Elder Petersen on DATE-Jul 1, 2010 2:58:31 GMT-DATE MESSAGE: Pat, Are we going to give up and leave a message here to see us next Thursday? FROM: Nancy Elder Petersen on DATE-Jul 1, 2010 2:55:57 GMT-DATE MESSAGE: Another great photo! I do love those good photos for the cemetery stones. I know they are in the records there. Ella Wintler was a teacher at Vancouver High School when I went there. I think she died in 1975. She was about 90 when she died. She served as a WA State Representative for several terms. FROM: Nancy Elder Petersen on DATE-Jul 1, 2010 2:47:28 GMT-DATE MESSAGE: Question How do I saving a Report as a File? Answer 1. Access the report you want to save. 2. Click the Share button above the editing panel. 3. From the drop-down list, choose one of these options: * Export to PDF. An Adobe PDF (Portable Document Format) is useful because PDFs keep the formatting you select. That way, if you print your report or send it to a relative, the report will look exactly as you see it on your monitor. You cannot make changes to the PDF within Family Tree Maker, and you need the Adobe Reader in order to view it. (Adobe Reader can be downloaded for free from the Adobe website.) * Export to CSV. This format organizes information into fields (comma-separated values) and is meant to be imported into spreadsheet programs. Only reports that use column formats can be exported to CSV. * Export to RTF. This word-processor format is based on a basic text file, but it can include information such as text style, size, and color. Also, this is a universal format, so it can be read by nearly all word processors. * Export to HTML. The Hypertext Markup Language format is the standard language for creating and formatting Web pages. Each format has its own export options you can choose from. After you choose a format type, you may be able to choose options such as page borders and text separators. Once you've made your selections, the Save As window opens. 4. Use the Save in drop-down list to find the location where you want to save the report. 5. Enter a name for the report in the File name field. 6. Click Save. Note:This article is an excerpt from the Family Tree Maker 2009 Official Guide. It is a complete guide to creating a family history you and your family will treasure for years to come. I use a DVD with a huge PDF file for my class reunion. I took it to LazerQuick on Main street in Vancouver and they did a terrific job printing the book directly from the DVD.
