From what I have read on the board John McHenry married Susanna Viney n Rockbridge,Va. and that John McHenry's sister Jane married Robert Wallace. in Ky. They stated that William was born 1745 in Lancaster, Pa. to Mary McHenry.............IMORTANT....Will......I don't know for sure that this is the same James McKee but it seems to go round and round which leads me to believe that this is the same James McKee in the will..............The will states that James McKee was in Orange Cty.Va. by 28 April 1738 when Thomas Campbell filed a lawsuit against him. On 27 June 1739, he was appointed constable in the Berryville area in "room"(place) of Hugh Gilder. (:Orange County, Va. Court Book 1, p. 309. book 2, p.2.) James was DECEASED by 3 October 1746 when his wife Margaret McKee was named Administratrix of his estate by the Frederick County Court. Her son William McKee and John Smith were her securities on the Bond. (Frederick County,Va. Will Book 1, p. 95) PAUSE//// IF...this is the same parents and I believe it is...William could not possibly be born 1745 as his father James died 1746 and William was his mother's security on the Bond. (he would be a baby) ....Also is IF this is the same James, William could not possibly be born in Penn. as James was in Virginia by 1738 and this will is also Frederick Cty.VA...... The will continues on....Margaret and her two sons purchased land.....145 acre tract is adjacent northeast of the 48 acres...one mile east of present day Charles Town, West Virginia. (Charleston??) Margaret was DECEASED by 6-May, 1760 when her will (dated 4 April 1760) was proved in Frederick County Court..............to Dau Mary...McKee (sic)...........dau Frany McKee (Frances?) dau? Matthew Mckee #10, son James McKee #10 when he arrives at age. (which money was left to said Martha & James by their father in my hands) residue to be equally dvided among my 6 children such as are of age to be paid at 12 months after my deceased (decease?) and the others to be paid as they come of age. Exors. my friend William Crawford and my son William McKee. (Frederick County Va. Deed Book 3 p127) I am missing part of end but I wrote this note: 3-26-1768 James sold 71 acres J. We close the door about 9:00 p.m. Pacific Daylight Time. We have lots of visitors who will give you a willing helping hand with your genealogy brick walls. You can enter questions or answers at any time but we hope you will be able to join us when we are open for discussions. BRICK WALL: This is from Kay Kingen Gyllenskog of Parma, Idaho: "I am looking for Charles Scott. I think I found about all I can on census reports (which have a lot of varying dates). He was born in Russia or Poland or Austria somewhere between 1874 and 1885 maybe. His father is Anton Scott and his mother is Virginia or "Rilla". They came to America around 1882. He was a fisherman and maybe worked in the shipyards later. He and his parents were in the Fruit Valley area of Vancouver in 1900. He and Stella Kingen were married in 1902 in Clark County. They were on the 1910 census in St. Helens, Oregon with three children. Stella died in June 1911 and is buried in Warren, outside St. Helens.(She has no headstone and the burial bill was unpaid). By the way, there is another Charles Scott that is about the same age in the area, but he didn't come from Poland/Austria. So the next time Charles is on a census report (1920) he is married to "Marian" and she apparently has a couple kids. And they are back in the Fruit Valley area if I remember right. Then I don't know what happened. I couldn't find him in the Oregon death records. I couldn't find Stella either for that matter and I know she died in Oregon. So I need someone to look for Charles in the Washington death records if you have them. There is a Charles Scott in the Park Hill cemetery, but seems like he was born in Canada and the birth date was off. What I really wish is that I could get a death certificate for Stella May. She died at 28 and the obit didn't say why. And I'd love to get a birth record. The old family notes say she came from a poor farm in Iowa and JW and Ida Kingen raised her from a baby. Can anyone get records from a poor farm?" Please feel free to come into GenChat anytime and post a query. The visitors love to have a challenge and welcome your "brickwall" problems.
