Franklin County Vital Records
It is so important to a Family Historian to obtain Vital Records of their ancestors. These prove facts, which can either prove or disprove the family lores we've heard for most of our lives. These Vital Records give us the road map that can be filled in with other research to recreate our families history for future generations.
Below are some sites that explain how and where to obtain these records. I personally have not verified their information, but they are reputable sites and used by many USGenWeb county sites. I recommend that you use the information they give, but then make a telephone call to the recommended office to verify the information provided.

Recently I found myself at the
Franklin County Historical Society Museum Library (that is a mouthful). I was amazed to find Vital Records. There is speculation on why these records are stored in the museum's library. These records have been in the library for years. Spot checking them through the statewide databases I found that some of these records are included and some are not. These Death Certificates and Burial Permits could be duplicates. Whatever the situation, they currently are residing at the Franklin County Historical Society Museum Library. Feel comfortable in contacting the wonderful people that work there for questions and copies. There is a nominal fee, and well worth the investment if you find that special Vital Record you are looking for.
