Peter George Hepp in 1926
Pete Hepp was an officer with the Chicago Police Department for many years. Although he barely looks old enough to shave in this photo, he was almost 30 years old, a veteran of World War I and the father of three children at the time (see the photo at right of his sons).

The Hepp brothers in about 1934. All four boys later joined the military, with the older three serving in World War II. They spread themselves out into all branches of the military: Army, Navy, Marines and Army Air Corps (which later became the Air Force).
