CALENDAR OF EVENTS

Jefferson County Genealogical Society offers a number of opportunities for its members to get together to learn and share knowledge. In addition to our monthly meetings (held at the Tri-Area Community Center [Map]) and our regular discussion groups and resource corners (held at the Research Center Research Center of the Jefferson County Historical Society located at 13692 Airport Cutoff Road (Highway 19), approximately five miles south of the City of Port Townsend [Map]), we offer bi-monthly research trips to repositories in the greater Seattle/Tacoma area as well as special events.

Membership Meetings – held monthly on the third Saturday of each month, we have presentations or panel discussions about a wide variety of topics related to family history research and family treasures.

Resource Corners – held the last Saturday of each month, these classes are designed to allow an in-depth look at an area of genealogical research. One of our members generally leads the discussion, but participants are encouraged to bring their own experiences, questions and problems related to the topic.

Regional Discussion Group – Record-keeping, storage and availablity vary widely between the various states in our Union and across countries.  This discussion group is an opportunity for members to share their knowledge of researching in a particular state or region.

Writing Your Family History Discussion Group – members can learn from each other about how to get started, how to organize your thoughts and data, how to address your audience and more when approaching a family history project.
