Kittitas County Genealogical Society presents FREE classes starting soon:

Saturday February 20, 2016 Introduction to Genealogy: 10 am to Noon
Using the Census in Research: 1 to 2 pm
Saturday February 27, 2016 Online Resources for Genealogy: 10 am to Noon
Saturday March 5, 2016 Applying for Pioneer Certificates: 10 am to Noon

Finding Your Roots (Season 3) starts Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at 8 p.m. on PBS.
For folks with Charter cable, the program will be on channel 8 and/or channel 788 (High Def).

Kittitas County (created November 24, 1883 from Yakima County) is located in the center of Washington State on the east side of the Cascade Mountain Range.
Ellensburg is the county seat and largest populated center in the county. It is also the home of Central Washington University.
Other populated centers in Kititas County include Cle Elum, Roslyn, Ronald, Thorp, Kittitas and Vantage.

While we specialize in Kittitas County resources, our collection also has many resources for other areas, states, and countries!

       Computers with Internet access and online subscriptions to Ancestry and other genealogy sources are available to library users.
       In addition to online access to information, the society Library has extensive card files of county obituaries, marriages, and other items.
