ACTIVITIES

The Mary Lacy Chapter supports and participates in a number of national, state and local projects and activities, including:

v     Donates historical and genealogical books to DAR state and local genealogical libraries.

v     Provides comfort items for veterans at veterans hospitals, veterans homes, and local nursing homes through the Service to Veterans program.

v     Supports "DAR Project Patriot" activities for military personnel overseas.

v     Participates in Centralia Independence Day parade.

v     Assists prospective members with lineage and application preparation.

v     Supports Americanism.

v     Sponsors DAR Good Citizens Award contest for local high school seniors.

v     Sponsors Outstanding Teacher of American History contest for local high school US history teachers.

v     Sponsors DAR exhibit at Southwest Washington Fair.

v     Sponsors local candidates for DAR Caroline E. Holt nursing scholarship.

We've made a concerted effort to increase our service project commitment within our community.
