Genealogy in Today's World
The Genealogy Training Center will provide interactive genealogy and hands-on computer courses to those just beginning to capture their family history and for those who already know the basics to family history and genealogical research and wish to improve their research skills. The courses will incorporate the basics of genealogy, the use of technology to meet their personal family history goals and to share that information with others. Courses will include the basic records sets used in genealogical research, the methodology to accomplish their objectives, enhanced data accuracy, sourcing of data records and the steps to permanently preserve their family's records and history. The courses cover searching for ancestors and family members, the ability to draw conclusions from the information found, recording sources and locations, and following the next steps to find more relevant information, and to help students dig deeper into their family's past.
Courses will include genealogical record sets, research inside and outside the United States. Technology will be part of each class. A variety of resources for doing research available for genealogists will be offered.
The classes will be held at IBEW Local No 46, Computer Lab, 19802 62nd Ave S, Kent, WA 98032
Each class will be two hours long and will be offered more than once during the month.
