SAAR Cemetery Album - 15

Chuck Kibbie, Eagle Scout Project, May 2010

Chuck Kibbie, a member of Scout Troop 402, has been involved the last few years in the commemorative programs led by SKCGS to honor the Civil War veterans buried in the Saar Pioneer Cemetery. Seeing a need for a place to sit, rest and ponder, Chuck proposed that a bench be installed. He designed and built the bench that sits on the hill east of the flagpole. The bench was set in place early May 2010.

Since there are veterans buried in the cemetery, he thought it appropriate that the cemetery also have a flagpole. The flagpole is portable, so it can be removed after holidays and easily put up for the next one. Chuck's Eagle Court of Honor will be this Sat. June 5, 2010 @ 7pm at the Kent Washington Stake Center, 12817 SE 256th St, Kent, WA 98030. All are welcome to attend.
