THE BIOGRAPHY PROJECT
Washington och dess Svenska Befolkning
1908

Ernst Skarstedt is the author of "Washington och dess Svenska Befolkning", published in 1908 by the Washington Printing Company. The resource is written in Swedish, and follows the typical format of "regional histories" published in that time - a history of the area and descriptions of communities and industries. The "biographical sketches", for the most part, are of Swedish immigrants with a few biographies of the children of Swedish immigrants.

Creating the data table for the abstractions of these sketches has posed a bit of a problem. In most cases, it was obvious (even to a person who DOESN'T read Swedish) what biographical information was being given. In those cases where there was some doubt as to the meaning of a Swedish word or phrase, that word is given in Swedish.

Here's a chance for YOU to help with the Skarstedt abstraction - if you can read Swedish, DO email Marge Reid, and we can make arrangements for you to get copies of the biographies!
