WASSAR
State Society Scholarships
Clydie Kohn Rossman -- Three applicants from each of
the five Tribal Agencies in the State of Washington may apply. The candidate
must be a graduating American Indian student who will be going to either a
vocational or academic school of higher learning. The scholarship may be used
for tuition only. Please contact the DAR chapter in your area for more
information.
Additional
information and applications for the following three scholarships are secured
from the colleges and universities named.
Catherine Marie Elvins and Naomi Libby
Elvins -- The
applicant must be a female student from the State of Washington who desires to
attend, or is attending, the University of Washington Medical School and who has
expressed a sincere desire to specialize in obstetrics and/or gynecology.
Application deadline is May 1. An application packet may be obtained from
the University of Washington Medical School.
Sarah Soule Patton -- The applicant must be a college
student of American history, going into the senior year, who is an American
Citizen. The applicant must be recommended by the financial aid office at
his/her school to be considered. Applications are available at the
following schools: Washington State University, Whitman College, St. Martin
University, Pacific Lutheran University, University of Puget Sound, Gonzaga,
Whitworth, Eastern Washington University, Seattle Pacific University, University
of Washington, Western Washington University, Central Washington University, and
Seattle University.
Weber-Riemcke-Schreiner -- Applications are available in January from the financial aid offices of the following universities:
Washington State, Western Washington, Central
Washington, and Eastern Washington. The scholarship is for tuition only in
graduate studies. Selection is based on financial need, grade average, and
other considerations. Applicants may apply for a second year's tuition.

National Society Scholarships
The NSDAR awards multiple scholarships to students showing dedication to the pursuit of an undergraduate degree in one of the following areas: history, political science, economics, government, or nursing.
Special scholarships are also awarded in the fields of music, law, business administration, chemistry, museum studies, and education. These scholarships have very specific requirements.
