Beret Ingebretsen was born in Selbu, Norway. She crossed the ocean in
a sailboat in 1866, which took 3 months. In 1868 in Minneapolis, MN
she married Carl Nelson, Sr. who was born in Tronsberg,
Norway in 1839. They had five
children: Otto, Ida, Carl Jr., Willie and Anna.
