Mary Rogness/Rogneslien Wold

 Mary Wold, age 77, died at her home in North Menomonie Saturday, March 18 [1950] after a short illness. 

Mary Rogness was born in Støren, Norway and spent her childhood there, coming to America when she was 19 years old.  On the 8th day of June 1895 she was united in marriage to Christ Wold at Eau Claire, Rev. P. Tondjerd performing the marriage ceremony.

To this union were born seven children, five daughters and two sons. Her husband, one daughter, Mrs. Hjalmer Mattison, and one son Gerhard preceded her in death.

Surviving her are four daughters, Mrs. Emil Hulback, Eau Claire; Mrs Phillip Mattison, Menomonie; Mrs. Arnold Mattison, Menomonie; Mrs. Ralph Quilling, Menomonie, and one son, Alfred at Milwaukee; one sister, one brother in Norway, and one brother in Menomonie, 14 grandchildren, 4 of which have preceded her in death, and 6 great grandchildren.


NOTE:  Marit Jonsdatter Rogneslien was born 2 May 1872 in Støren. She was the daughter of Jon Jonsen Aunefætten, b. 1836, d. 1915 and Ragnhild Estensdatter Rogneslien, b. 1844, d. 1927.   Her brother Esten, b. 1869, also emigrated to Menomonie, Wis. and used the name Esten Rogness.
