ALHN JUNEAU COUNTY WISCONSIN
Old German Settlement Church - Armenia
These photos were provided by MAK, in May 2001 on the way to
Searles Cemetery. The church is on Highway G. The sign is included for identification.
Bill Goss remembers going there as a little boy with his parents. The only name he
knew of that the church went by was the "Old German Settlement Church". He remembers
half of the service was spoken in German and half in English.
The people who didn't want to speak English sat on south side of the church and the
other's that were willing to speak English sat on the North side of the church.
Bill's great aunt Edna used to play one of the organs in the church. There were two,
a reed organ and the other one is unknown.
Bill's father and his wife used to go to that church. According to them, the pastor
quit preaching there and moved to Florida. The church was sort of abandoned after
that. Some people started going to Trinity Lutheran Church in Port Edwards, WI.
The land and church is now owned by Huebner's in Nekoosa, WI. Two of the sir names
that attended that church were Schmidt and Schauer.
Anyone who is familiar with this church, and willing to share information,

Many thanks to Joan & Bill Goss for
providing this information. .
