Society History:
On November 12, 1988, the Clinton Community Historical Society was officially formed by a group of area residents who hoped to promote the preservation of the Clinton area's historic past. The Society wishes to encourage people of all ages to appreciate the rich heritage of this community and to interpret the area's history through exhibits, recording of oral history and through printed media. The charter of the Clinton Community Historical Society establishes its several purposes:

The charter of the Clinton Community Historical Society establishes its several purposes:
- to promote the conservation of historic materials,
- to provide educational opportunities for all age groups, and
- to work for the establishment of a local historical center.
Society Meetings:
The Clinton Community Historical Society meets several times per year with its annual meeting in March. Most meetings are held at Clinton Public Library meeting room, located at 214 Mill Street, Clinton, WI. Members are notified of meetings by post card; public is also provided in the Clinton Topper Newspaper and on this web page in the Speakers and Programs section, below.

Volunteers Needed ! We need your help to assist with assembling, cataloging and storing historical records. If you can spare a couple hours per month as a volunteer helper at the CCHS, the Society welcomes your assistance. No special training is required. Click here for more information.

SOCIETY LOCATION: The CCHS office and archives are temporarily located in the homes of its officers in Clinton and Shopiere, Wisconsin. We are seeking a long term storage and archival solution for our many records. Suggestions and assistance are welcome.
SOCIETY HOURS: The CCHS archives are currently open to the public by appointment. Contact one of the officers by email or phone to request access.
SOCIETY EMAIL: The CCHS President can answer questions or forward requests to the Society Archivist or other staff.

Clinton Public Library Resources:
The Clinton Public Library will look-up and copy obituaries and articles about a person in our archived (bound paper) copies of the Clinton Topper Newspaper and in the book, History of Clinton, Wisconsin 1837-1987, 150 Years - A Sesquicentennial Edition, compiled by the Clinton Sesquicentennial Book Committee, Copyright Curtis Media Corporation, 1987 (ISBN:0-88107-091-2). The Clinton Public Library asks those who make a request to donate $1 plus 15c per photocopied page, and to pay all mailing costs. The Library also sell copies of the Clinton Sesquicentennial book for $50 and will mail for postage plus $1 handling. Interested parties can contact the library:
