“On the Banks of the Wisconsin River”

The Stevens Point Chapter was organized on 4 June 1898 and the sister-daughters recently celebrated our 112 years of "Tapestry of Service".

The Chapter meets the third week of each month (Wednesday or Saturday), September to December and February to May; Chapter Officers meet in June, August, and January.

In fulfilling the NSDAR mission of patriotism, historical preservation and education the chapter:

· participates in the Stevens Point July Independence Day parade and distributes flags to parade watchers

· serves veterans and spouses at Wisconsin King Veterans Home sponsoring two Bingo events

· observes Constitution Week in September with a month long display in the Charles M. White Public Library

· participates in Wreaths Across America held in December, at the Korean War Memorial at Lake Pacawa, Plover, WI. The chapter lays the wreaths on veterans’ graves after the ceremony.

· presents the DAR-ROTC Award to a graduating UW-SP senior at the ROTC Military Ball in March

· sponsors high school seniors as Good Citizens, seniors and college students who apply for DAR Scholarships and students writing essays in the American History and Christopher Columbus contests
