Koehler Family Birth Records
Chippewea County

My name is Edith Carpenter-Neu of Weston, WI (near Wausau) and my husband Clarence R. Neu, Jr. is a grandson of JOSEPH KOEHLER, JR., his mother was Mary Anna Katherine Koehler, who married Clarence R. Neu, Sr., June 11 1932 at Cadott. Both Clarence and Mary (Koehler) Neu are now deceased.

I would like to add some births, please. I was recently working at the Courthouse at Chippewa Falls on very old birth records for the JOSEPH KOHLER / KOEHLER family who immigrated from Austria and settled on a large farm near Cadott in the Twp. of Sigel in 1873. I was thrilled to find a biography of Joseph Kohler (Sr.) & Joseph Kohler (Jr.) in the Chippewa County Wis. Past & Present, Vol. II, which was on a shelf at the Register of Deeds Office. The Register of Deeds is seeking a copy of Vol. I. (Please note the name is intermittently spelled KOHLER and KOEHLER and they had eight children of which six were girls. Two early births do not appear in the Courthhouse Birth Books)

All of the following were children of JOSEPH KOHLER/KOEHLER JR. & MARY A. KUBALE, and all were born at the farm at Sigel Township (later that area became Goetz Township):

1) KOHLER, -- (Martha) Vol. M, page 521 - born June 15 1903
2) KOHLER, Ernest J. No record at Courthouse - born Aug. 20 1904
3) KOHLER, Bernard F. No record at Courthouse - born Apr 12, 1906
4) KOEHLER, Mary K. Vol. 104, page 95 - born Nov. 24, 1907
5) KOHLER, Josephine No record at Courthouse - born July 20, 1909
