Unknown Bloomer Photo
My name is Patty Fritz and I live near Plainview, Mn. I have been going through
my father's pictures and have found one that I am going to try and send to you
via an attachment. My father will be 93 this fall and he is totally blind, so
is unable to help me identify the children in this photo. On the back is written:
"taken in Bloomer, Wisconsin in 1936. My dad was
living in Iowa, near DeWitt at this time. I think he and other men he worked
with went to Bloomer to work one time...possibly digging potatoes?
I didn't know if you wanted to try and put this on your site somewhere or
not? I am curious as to who the children are. I believe it is someone who
lived there and dad just happened to take their picture.
Let me know if you have additional questions. (My father's name is Lester
Craig). He worked for the following families in Iowa during the depression
years and after:
Francis McDevitt, Leonard Hines, Mike Spellisie, Boney
Reed, and Tim Crowley.
Maybe there is a connection with some of these names to Bloomer, also.
