From the Stevens Point Weekly Journal [Portage Co. WI], Nov. 12, 1892, Page 5 A bad wreck occurred last Thursday morning on the Wisconsin Central road a few miles from Chippewa Falls, between the stations of Colfax and Summit. A regular and special freight came into collision, smashing the engines of both trains and several freight cars. William WITZIG, a fireman, whose home was at Chippewa Falls, was crushed and almost instantly killed. Traffic was delayed for some hours. |
