Irene Mary Agnes Mercier (Sister Roselda)
24 June 1909 - 24 August 1988
Irene graduated from Boyd High School in 1926. On September 27, 1930, at the age of 21, Irene entered the Order of St. Francis. On May 18, 1933 Sister Roselda took her vows as a Hospital Sister of the Third Order of St. Francis. She graduated from St. John's School of Nursing, Springfield, Ill. She was a medical technologist and x-ray technician. In 1969 she returned to Chippewa County, where she worked as a patient representative at St. Joseph's Hospital. In 1988, Sister Roselda died of liver cancer.
