Deloris V. Indgjer, age 96, of Eau Claire, passed away Sunday, Oct. 10, 2010, at Syverson Lutheran Home in Eau Claire.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2010, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Eau Claire, with Pastor Gary Sahs officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery also in Eau Claire. There will be visitation at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of the service. Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie is serving the family.

Ellen J. Isakson, 93, of Colfax, died Sunday,July 11, 2010, at Luther Hospital in Eau Claire.

Ellen was born Nov. 20, 1916, in the Town of Grant to Elvin and Selma (Langberg) Evenson.  She grew  up in the Colfax area and attended  rural schools, including Twin Valley and Colfax Elementary. She was graduated from Colfax High School in 1934 and the Dunn County Normal School in 1935 as a teacher.  Ellen began her teaching career in a number of rural schools, including Riverview, Clear view, Twin Valley, Knapp Settlement and finally Colfax Elementary, where she had her dream job as a first grade teacher. 

On Aug. 3, 1940, she married Marlow A. Martinson.  Marlow preceded her in death in July of 1971.  She then married Merril Isakson Dec. 2, 1972, He preceded her in death on March 16, 1986. 

Ellen was a very active member of the Colfax Community over the years. Her memberships included Running Lutheran Free Church, First Lutheran Church in Eau Claire and Colfax Lutheran Church.  She served on the Church Council, and was Charity Circle Chairperson, Education Secretary and Church Council Representative for Lutheran Brotherhood, Red Cedar Branch 8648.  She was a 4-H leader, PTA officer, and helped start the Colfax Health and Rehab Auxiliary and was a member of the Merry Mixers in Colfax. 

Survivors include her children,  Mary Ellen (William "Butch") Mathews of Colfax, Steven (Karen) Martinson of Wausau, David (Linda) Martinson of Barron and Kurt Martinson of Colfax;  a step-daughter, Jean (Nick) Turner of Eagle, Alaska;  one sister, Ovidie Dyrud of Crystal, Minn.; a brother-in-law, Virgil (Virginia) Martinson;  a sister-in-law, Arlene Martinson; 12 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Esther Albright; brothers-in-law, Stanton Martinson, The Reverend Amos Dyrud and Richard Albright; and a sister-in-law, Ann Martinson.

Funeral services for Ellen Isakson will be Thursday, July 15, 2010, at 11 a.m. at Colfax Lutheran Church, with burial in Lower Running Valley Cemetery.  Friends may call Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Sampson Funeral Home in Colfax and one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday.
