Mary Ann Walstrom
AURORA, Wis. — Mary Ann Walstrom, 62, died peacefully on Saturday, Dec. 20, 2003, at her home with her family at her side.
She was born Nov. 16, 1941, in Florence, Wis., the daughter of the late Herbert and Dorothy (LaFebvre) Christesen.
Mary graduated from Florence High School in 1959. She married Bruce Walstrom on June 24, 1961, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Florence.
She retired in 1998 from the Kingsford Medical Center, where she worked in the office as a billing and insurance specialist for more than 20 years.
Mary was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Aurora and served on the church council. Mary enjoyed traveling, hiking, sewing, and gardening. She was a very loving and kind wife, mother, and grandmother. She was loved by all who knew her.
Mary is survived by her husband, Bruce; four children, Steve Walstrom of Cloquet, Minn., Carole (Marvin) Wall of DePere, Wis., Kent (Charlene) Walstrom of Aurora and Pam (Steve) Koltz of Allouez, Wis.; one brother, Ron Christesen of Iron Mountain, a sister, Elaine (Jack) Rochon of Florence, and eight grandchildren, Brian, Andy, and Scott Wall, Sarah, Jay, and Joseph Walstrom, and Collin and Ryan Koltz.
Visitation will be today from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home in Iron Mountain. Parish prayers will be recited today at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home and at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Aurora. Fr. Michael Betley will offer the Mass of Christian Burial.
Burial will be in the spring at the Homestead-Aurora Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Marv Wall, Steve Koltz, Tom Rochon, David Rochon, Mike Glime and Bill Christesen.

James St. Louis
NIAGARA, Wis. — James F.  St. Louis, 92, of 125 Hemlock St., Niagara, died Thursday, Jan. 13, 2005, at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital in Iron Mountain.
He was born Jan. 20, 1912, in Florence, Wis., son of the late Felix and Mary (Meyers) St. Louis.
Tuffy was a football standout at Iron Mountain High School and loved singing in the high school choir. He was a proud IMHS graduate and he enjoyed his years there. He attended Jordan College on a football scholarship.
Jim worked at Kimberly-Clark Paper Mill in Niagara for many years. He was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Niagara.
He enjoyed football, baseball, fishing, hunting, gardening, music, and politics.
Jim was a member of a barbershop quartet and had built his own home.
Most importantly Jim loved his family and looked forward to his visits with them.
He married the love of his life, Bernice OÂ’Donnell on Jan. 26, 1935, in Norway. She preceded him in death in 1999.
Jim is survived by five children, Kathleen McGlade of Dalton, Ga., Judy Quam of Atlanta, Ga., Daniel (Rita) St. Louis of Moscow, Russia, Deborah (Dan) Jaspen of Iron Mountain, and James (Jill) St. Louis M.D. of St. Petersburg, Fla.; a daughter-in-law, Kaila St. Louis of Elkins, W. Va.; 13 grandchildren, Mark, Colleen, Allison, Sean, Shad, Casey, Sylvie Bernice, Jessica, Jimmy, Jacqueline, Jonathan, Jackson and Justin; three great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Clarence.
Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Niagara.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Fr. John Hefner will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial.
Burial will be in the Norway Township Cemetery.

Minnie Nelson
KINGSFORD — Minnie M. Nelson, 100, of Kingsford, died, Sunday, Jan. 23, 2005, at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital in Iron Mountain.
She was born May 9, 1904, in Mount Carmel, Ill. She was the daughter of the late Shulor and Maud (Smith) Coleman. Minnie lived in the Chicago area from 1926-1969.
In 1969, she moved to Spread Eagle, Wis. and has lived in this area since. Minnie was proud of the fact that she had lived in six different states.
She loved to crochet and make crafts out of plastic. Minnie was a member of the Dickinson County Hospital League and made 75 aprons one year for the hospital league. She also had more than 500 volunteer hours at the VA Medical Center in Iron Mountain. She was a faithful member of the First Covenant Church.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Harold F. Wrede, in April 1950 and by her second husband, Gust O. Nelson, in October 1993.
Minnie is survived by her son, Harold (Karyn) Wrede of Manchester, Tenn.; her daughter, Marge (John) Paun of Ponce Inlet, Fla.; a sister, Virginia (Albert) Miehle of Des Plaines, Ill.; four grandchildren, Tammy, Alison, Eileen and Donald Wrede and several great- grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her son, Edward Wrede; and four brothers, Robert, Maurice, Jerauld, and John Coleman.
Funeral services will be on Friday at 1 p.m. from the Short-Cunningham Funeral Home in Mount Carmel.
Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Mount Carmel .

Walter Anderson
HOMESTEAD, Wis. — Walter “Everett” Anderson, 92, formerly of Homestead, died Friday, Jan. 28, 2005, at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital.
He was born Sept. 28, 1912, in Homestead, son of the late Charles and Ellen (Pearson) Anderson. Everett was a lifelong resident of the area and graduated from Iron Mountain High School in 1930.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Everett had worked for the VA Medical Center as building management supervisor for many years before retiring.
He was a very active member of the First Lutheran Church. He was also a member of the Golden K and the Dickinson County Pilot’s Association.
He is survived by two sisters, Doris VanHaute of Aurora, Wis. and Olive Richard of Eau Claire; nieces and nephews, Donna Holton of Aurora, Marlene Ethier of Rock Springs, Wyo., Allen VanHaute of Green Bay, Wis., Keith Richard Jr. of Eau Claire and Thomas Richard of Appleton, Wis.; several great nieces and great nephews; and a special friend, Genevieve Dario of Iron Mountain.
Visitation will be held on Monday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Erickson-Rochon and Nash Funeral Home of Iron Mountain.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the First Lutheran Church in Iron Mountain. Rev. Doug Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in the Homestead-Aurora Cemetery.

Duane Flesch
AURORA, Wis. — Duane Richard Flesch, 56, of Aurora, died Monday, Jan. 31, 2005, at his home.
He was born on Oct.16, 1948, in Iron Mountain, the son of the late Richard and Beatrice (Mills) Flesch.
He was the co-owner of Demolition Disposal in Aurora. Duane enjoyed fishing and hunting.
He is survived by four brothers, Donald (Sharon) of Brookfield, Wis., Terry (Betty) of Aurora, James (Sue) of Kingsford, and Robert of Aurora; two sisters, Sheryle Karcz of Green Bay, Wis. and Rosemarie Flesch of Juneau, Wis.; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Flesch; his mother, Beatrice Flesch Malmberg; and his brother, George.
Visitation will be Thursday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Tondin-Ross & Freeman Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be at 6 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Rev. David Anderson will officiate.

Ray Galbraith
AURORA, Wis. — Ray Dean Galbraith, 82, of Aurora went peacefully to be with his Lord on Monday, Feb. 7, 2005.
He was born Feb. 27, 1922, in Gladstone, Ill., the son of the late Lynn and Hester (Cook) Galbraith. Dean graduated from Kingsford High School in 1939 and lived in the area most of his life.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and served 27 months overseas in England, Belgium, France and Germany.
Dean married Margaret Peterson on March 24, 1943.
He worked for Lake Shore Inc. for 35 years, retiring in 1984. Dean was a member of First Covenant Church in Iron Mountain, where he sang in the choir for nearly 50 years and also served on the church board. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing and farming, which he did for many years.
Dean is survived by his wife of 61 years, Margaret; four sons, David (Kathy) Galbraith of Dewey, Ariz., Alan Galbraith of Merriman, Jeffrey (Ann) Galbraith of Stevens Point, Wis. and Peter (Shelby) Galbraith of Eau Claire, Wis.; a sister, Florence Frederick of Santa Rosa, Calif.; 13 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Jamie Galbraith; two sisters, Berniece Meier and Joy Ryan; and a grandson, Raymond Galbraith.
Visitation will be held Thursday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home of Iron Mountain.
Funeral services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at the First Covenant Church in Iron Mountain. Rev. Peter Erickson will officiate.

Etolo Rocconi
IRON MOUNTAIN — Etolo F. “Rac” Rocconi, 91, of 543 Detroit Ave., Iron Mountain, died Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2005, at Florence Villa Nursing Home with his wife, Christine, by his side.
He was born Oct. 10, 1913, in Iron Mountain, son of the late Frank and Maria (Filosofi) Rocconi. Rac was a lifelong resident of Iron Mountain and a graduate of Iron Mountain High School where he excelled in music as a trumpet player.
He was a distinguished member of the U.S. Army band in Fort Bragg, N.C. during World War II. It was there that he met and married Christine Smith on March 28, 1946. After the war, Rac was instrumental in forming the Dickinson County Area Band which he directed for 23 years.
He worked as a supervisor for the Iron Mountain Post Office until his retirement in 1971. Rac was a member of St. Mary and St. Joseph Catholic Church and a longtime member of the Lions Club. He enjoyed reading, fishing, woodworking and walking. Rac was a devoted and loving spouse, father and grandfather. Fondly remembered as the “Music Man,” he often said, “music was good to me.”
Rac is survived by his wife of 59 years, Christine; a son, Charles Rocconi of Traverse City, lower Michigan; three daughters, Joanne (Michael) Bowen of Boulder, Colo., Patricia Nemode of Traverse City and Janet (Michael) Froze of Cedarburg, Wis.; a sister, Inez Bugni of Iron Mountain; seven grandchildren, Matthew, Daniel, Benjamin, Rachael, Emily, David and Scott; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Angelo, Albert and Ludwig; and two sisters, Helen and Esther.
Visitation will be Sunday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held on Monday at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home and 10 a.m. at St. Mary and St. Joseph Catholic Church. Fr. Daniel Zaloga will offer the Mass of Christian Burial.
Burial will be in Cemetery Park.
Pallbearers will be Charles Smith, Stephen McPhail, Eugene Tomassucci, Louis Pucci Jr., Theodore Pucci and Roger Rocconi.
Tom Bugni will serve as the lector during Mass.

Sharon Nelson
MILWAUKEE — Sharon L. Nelson, 61, of 3355 S. Kinnickkinnick Ave., Milwaukee, was born to eternal life on Thursday, Feb. 24, 2005.
She was born Aug. 10, 1943, in Fence, Wis., beloved daughter of Frank and Florence (Sadowski) Demko. Sharon graduated from Florence High School. She lived her life serving others as a nurse for more than 25 years.
Sharon was the loving mother of Kimberly, James (Valerie) Nelson, and Kristin (Daniel) Dane; the sister of Robert (Lauren) Demko; and proud grandmother of Elizabeth, Madison, Javier, and Brittany. She is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Visitation will be on Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Fr. Joseph Gouin will officiate.

Robert Anderson
AURORA, Wis. — Robert E. Anderson, 92, of Aurora, died Saturday, Feb. 26, 2005, at the Dickinson County Memorial Hospital.
He was born Feb. 12, 1913, in Sweden, son of the late Ernest and Mary Anderson. He came to this country with his parents at two weeks of age and has resided in this area his entire life.
Bob married Isabelle Davis in Iron Mountain on Dec. 22, 1939. She preceded him in death on April 14, 1998.
He was a construction foreman and a member of Local Union #76 Cement Workers in Chicago. Bob had worked many construction sites, including the Mackinac Bridge, KI Sawyer Airforce Base, O’Hare Airport, and the Illinois Tollway. He retired from the Deldin Corporation in 1975.
He was a member of the over 60’s Club and the Northern Agency on Aging. He was on the advisory council for the Florence County Senior Citizens and one of the founders of the Florence County Senior Citizen Center. Robert loved cars, music, and entertaining his family and friends.
He is survived by his son, Robert (Caroline) Anderson of Buffalo Grove, Ill. and his daughter; Jeanette Deldin of Racine, Wis.; five grandchildren, Tom, Pam, and Pat Deldin and John and Jeff Anderson; seven great-grandchildren, Michael, Jason, Tony, Vicki, Sarah, Jacob, and Benjamin. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home of Iron Mountain.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 12 noon at the funeral home. Rev. James Danielson will preside at the services. Mr. Anderson’s grandsons and great-grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

FENCE, Wis. — Kelly Wildt, 43, of Fence, Wis., died Wednesday, March 2, 2005, at her home.

Charles Carl
KEYES LAKE, Wis. — Charles J. Carl, 72, of Keyes Lake, died Thursday, March 10, 2005, at Lake Havasu City Medical Center in Lake Havasu City, Ariz.
He was born April 16, 1932, in Iron Mountain, the son of the late Chester and Agnes (LeGrave) Carl. Chuck was a 1950 graduate of Kingsford High School.
He served with the U.S.Army in Company B, 7th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Division during the Korean War from 1950-1953. His service decorations include the Combat Infantry Badge, Korean Service Medal with three bronze service stars, the Purple Heart, United Nations Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal.
Chuck retired after working for Kingsford Broach and Tool for more than 20 years.
He married the former Carol Gustafson on Sept. 14, 1963, at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Iron Mountain. She preceded him in death on Feb. 12, 2003.
Chuck was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Florence. He was also a member of the Iron Mountain-Kingsford Elks Club, the Florence Masonic Lodge and the Florence Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Chuck enjoyed spending the winters in Lake Havasu and summers at Keyes Lake. He also enjoyed traveling and taking cruises. Chuck was an avid sports fan and especially enjoyed following Green Bay Packer football. Following his retirement he took care of many lawns in the Keyes Lake area.
He is survived by his sons, James (Vanessa) Carl of Kingsford and Joseph (Terry) Carl of Albuquerque, N.M. ; a brother, Thomas (Sally) Carl of Royal Oak, lower Michigan; four sisters, Geraldine (Kenneth) Shampo of Niagara, Wis., Yvonne (Kleo) Hanson of Kingsford, Mary Lee (Ronald) Melelli of Loretto and Patricia (Thomas) Wickman of Iron Mountain; nine grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter and many nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Kay (Charlevoix) and an infant sister, Jean.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home and from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Friday at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church. Masonic services will be held at 6 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.

Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Florence.

Rose Burcar
IRON MOUNTAIN — Rose Burcar, 85, of Iron Mountain, died Wednesday, April 6, 2005, at Florence Villa Nursing Home.
She was born on Feb. 26, 1920, in Greenland, the daughter of the late Thomas and Sophia (Jakovac) Burcar.
Miss Burcar lived in Milwaukee for 33 years. She was a secretary at Cutler Hammer (Eaton Co.) in Milwaukee.
She is survived by many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one brother and four sisters.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11:30 a.m. at Cemetery Park. Fr. Joseph Gouin will officiate.
Burial will be in Cemetery Park.

Robert Mongrain
KINGSFORD — Robert Mongrain, 90, of 213 Lyman St. Kingsford, died Wednesday, April 6, 2005, at Florence Villa Nursing Home in Florence, Wis.
Bob was born May 30, 1913, in Iron Mountain, son of the late Joseph and Josephine (Lambert) Mongrain and has been a lifelong resident of this area. Bob’s family were pioneer residents of Kingsford.
His father, Joseph was a well known business man and leader during the development of Kingsford.
Bob’s father owned all the land from Woodward Avenue south to the Menominee River.
Henry Ford purchased the land from the Mongrain family.
Bob was a 1933 graduate of Iron Mountain High School.
He married the former LaVerne Eyers on April 24, 1937, in Iron Mountain. She preceded him in death on Oct. 24, 1996.
Bob worked for the Iron Mountain-Kingsford Transit Lines for 18 years. He also worked for Clairmont Transfer for 12 years retiring in 1969. Bob was a member of the Balsam Street Christian Church.
He is survived by two sons, Dale of Brawley, Calif. and Gary of Kingsford; eight grandchildren, Rod, Wendy, Bryan, Kim, Jason, Darren, Ron and Jamie and many great grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by nine brothers, Henry, Edward, Aloric, Leonce, Alfred, George, Arthur, Joseph, Albert and three sisters, Olivine Gleason, Eva Gauthier and Marie McKenna.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Tuesday at the Kingsford Funeral Home.

Lori Schomer
AURORA, Wis. — Lori J. Schomer, 44, of Aurora, Wis., died Sunday, April 10, 2005, at her home in Aurora.
She was born on April 15, 1960, in Norway, daughter of Lois (Trecartin) Schomer and the late Herman Schomer. Lori was a lifelong resident of this area and graduated from Florence High School in 1978.
She loved antiques, plants, and was considered to have a green thumb.
She is survived by one son, Jason Krans and one daughter, Koree Krans, both of Aurora; her mother, Lois Schomer of Aurora; two brothers, Sam (Kathy) Schomer of Niagara and Joe (Sherry) Schomer of Aurora; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Lori also leaves many devoted friends and caregivers.
Lori was preceded in death by her father, Herman Schomer in 1995 and by one brother, John Schomer in 1981.

Milan Hedmark
AURORA, Wis. — Milan Richard Hedmark, age 3, of Aurora, died Tuesday, April 12, 2005, at his home.
He was born on Oct. 22, 2001, in Iron Mountain, the son of Paul and Jan (Melin) Hedmark.
Milan was a happy and loving little boy, who enjoyed life to its fullest. He was affectionately called “Smilin’ Milan.” He enjoyed playing with his tractors, bulldozers, pow-pow, and Grandpa Bob’s “injun ponies.” He especially enjoyed being outdoors and going fishing and hunting with his dad.
He is survived by his parents, Jan and Paul; his sister, Sydney; his grandparents, Richard and Joyce Melin of Cordova, Ill. and Bob and Sandy Hedmark of Aurora; his great-grandparents, Vita Hedmark of Niagara, Wis., Dorothy Melin of Iron Mountain, and Joe and Opal Crockett of Russellville, Ark.; his aunts and uncles, Sandra (Paul) Dunaway of Kaneville, Ill., Sherri Nichols of Conroe, Texas, Lee (Carlene) Hedmark of Homestead, Wis., Julie (Kevin) Olsen of Homestead and Mindy (Ben) Angle of Homestead; and many cousins, great-aunts and great-uncles.
He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Milan Hedmark, Gordon Melin, and Evald and Edith Osterberg.
Visitation will be Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Homestead Baptist Church. Funeral services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at the church. Rev. David Anderson will officiate. Burial will be in the Homestead-Aurora Cemetery.

Pierino Frigo
AURORA, Wis.. — Pierino “Pete” Frigo, beloved husband and father, 85, of Irvine, Calif., formerly of Green Bay, died and peacefully entered into eternal life on April 19, 2005.
He was born on April 7, 1920, in Wausaukee, Wis., the first son of Pasquale and Camilla Frigo.
He is survived by his wife, Alma; his children, Marianna Ochoa, Gregory (Stella), Dorothy (Mike) Weishaar, Peter (Deb), Paul (Sonia), Terri (Robert) Rose, Mark (Deb), Denise Mendez, Rita, Angela Leon, Joan (Mark) Duffy, Ann (Rich) Beu, Bill (Donna), Michelle (Don) Fortune, Suzanne (Edward) Provencal, Rebecca (Albert) Sellers; his sisters, Teresa Zappatelli, Sr. Pasqualine, Pasqualina (John) Young; his brothers, Tony (Frances), Father Billy, Paul and Camille; his sister-in-law, Fran, and brother-in-law, Gildo De Muri. He is further survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Elsie, his brothers, Leo, Francis, Dominic, Pio and his sisters, Philomena Klee, Mary Louise and Christina De Muri.
Pete received his bachelor of arts degree from St. Francis Seminary. He attended many courses on the dairy industry at the University of Wisconsin. He proudly served his country during World War II.
He began his career with Frigo Cheese Corp. in 1945 as the quality control and milk procurement manager. From 1957 to 1963, he opened and then managed the sales branch in California. He served as the president of the corporation from 1963 until 1980. He was elected chairman of the board and served from 1980 until 1984 when retired from the corporation.
The family with greet friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday at Tondin-Ross & Freeman Funeral Home in Iron Mountain and at Sacred Heart Church in Aurora from 10 a.m. until the time of services.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Aurora Wis. Fr. Billy Frigo will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial.
Interment will follow in the Cemetery Park.

Gerald Fayas
IRON MOUNTAIN — Gerald James Fayas, 71, of 812 W. Hughitt St., Iron Mountain, died Saturday, April 23, 2005, at the VA Medical Center in Iron Mountain following a lengthy illness.
Gerald was born Sept. 18, 1933, in Tipler, Wis. He was the son of the late Paul and Clara (Manke) Fayas. Gerald was a lifelong resident of the Iron Mountain area.
Gerald married the love of his life Sharon Paulson on Oct. 27, 1956. They spent 42 years together before she preceded him in death on May 16, 1998.
Gerald served his country four years with much pride in the U.S. Air Force from January 1952 through December 1955. Stationed in London, England most of those years, he received a National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal and honorable discharge.
Gerald worked many years as supervisor at Kafka Asphalt Petroleum Co. until retirement.
He was inspired by every opportunity to help someone in need and his serenity came from the simple things in life. God and family were always number one. With his zest for life he lived to cook, cut up venison, putz at “the new camp,” enjoy his grandsons, make sausage, sing, tell a joke or two and devote a lifetime of giving to others. With a giving heart and an open home, there was always room for one more at the kitchen table. He offered such comfort and kindness without expectation.
Survivors include four children, Donna (Tom) Johnson of Iron Mountain, Darlene Hehn of Iron Mountain, Darrell (Debbie) Fayas of Iron Mountain and Diane (Paul) Rasmussen of Iron Mountain; grandsons, Jeremy, Justin, and Jaime Fayas of Iron Mountain; granddaughters, Alicia Hehn of Kingsford and Anne DeCrecsenzo of Iron Mountain; five sisters, Doris Gruell of Kingsford, Evelyn (Orville) Larson, Joyce (Howard) Stenerson of Red Wing, Minn., Lorraine (Eldred) Fayas of Iron Mountain and Carol (Henry) Gardiner of Alburtis, Pa.; a brother, Paul (Wanita) Fayas Jr., of Kingsford, a special lil pal, Riley, and four granddogs; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Gerald was preceded in death by a son, Daniel Fayas; son-in-law, Douglas Hehn; and a sister, Gertrude Lindblom.
To know him was to love him. A very loving father, grandpa to many, great friend to all. Forever Together!
Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home in Iron Mountain.
Services will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Rev. David Wilton will officiate.
Burial will be at the Quinnesec Cemetery.

Robert Counter
AURORA, Wis. — Robert “Bobby” Counter, 51, of 997 Counter Road, Aurora, died Saturday, April 30, 2005, at the Iron Mountain V.A. Medical Center.
Bobby was born Jan. 21, 1954, in Honolulu, Hawaii. He was a 1972 graduate of Florence High School and served in the United States Army from 1972-1974.
Bobby has worked at the Iron Mountain V.A. Medical Center for the past 16 years. He loved music, reading, and had somewhat of a green thumb. Bobby played the drums, guitar and sang in several local bands including, The New Breed, Myles Sparx and Riley Road.
He leaves two sons, Ty (Angela) Counter of Kingsford and Morgan Counter of Aurora; two daughters, Jeny (Dan) Shanoski of Bloomington, Ill. and Talor Counter of Aurora; his father, Thomas Counter Sr. of Aurora and his mother, Rose Counter of Virginia Beach, Va.; his brother, Thomas Jr. (Liz) Counter of Denver; a grandson, Cade Counter; special aunt and uncle, Bill and Kathy Counter; a niece, Heather (Derek) Williams; several great-nieces and great-nephews; special cousins, Laurie, Billy, Jim, Mike and Lisa; many other aunts, uncles and cousins and also a special friend, Tracy Mathies.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home in Iron Mountain.
Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Rev. David Anderson will officiate.
Burial will be in the Homestead-Aurora Cemetery.

Albert Howell
KINGSFORD — Albert Arthur Howell, 82, of 650 Westwood Ave., Kingsford, died Monday, May 2, 2005, at Marquette General Hospital in Marquette.
He was born on June 8, 1922, in Florence, Wis., the son of the late Albert and Charlotte (Foss) Howell.
Mr. Howell served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. Albert worked as an auto mechanic. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, baseball, and football.
He is survived by his son, Randolph (Joan) Howell of Appleton, Wis.; a grandson, Matthew Howell of Appleton, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Emmet Howell, four sisters, LaVaughn Krans, Alberta Vross, Edna Anderson, and June Ayotte.
Visitation will be Saturday from 12:30 p.m. to 1 p.m. at Tondin-Ross & Freeman Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Rev. Michael March will officiate.
Burial will be in the Homestead-Aurora Cemetery.

Florence Berganini
IRON MOUNTAIN — Florence Berganini, 89, of 1100 W. Brown St., Iron Mountain, died Wednesday, May 11, 2005, at Florence Villa Nursing Home in Florence, Wis.
She was born on April 16, 1916, in Virginia, Minn., the daughter of the late Thomas and Enrica Spigarelli.
Mrs. Berganini was a longtime resident of Iron Mountain. She enjoyed traveling, bowling, and participating in senior citizen activities.
She married Basil Berganini on June 10, 1936, in Iron Mountain. He preceded her in death in 1994.
Florence is survived by one son, Robert (Donna) Berganini of Waupaca, Wis.; one sister, Jean Gratias of Denver, Colo.; two grandchildren, Tanya (Kevin) Sigrist of Tallahassee, Fla. and Mark Berganini of Oshkosh, Wis.; four great-grandchildren, Mike, Tony, and Molly Sigrist and Tasha Berganini.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Fred and Armand Spigarelli.
There will be no services.
Burial will be in Cemetery Park.

Dorothy Palluconi
IRON MOUNTAIN — Dorothy H. Palluconi, 93, of 1304 Grand Boulevard Circle, Iron Mountain, died Wednesday, May 18, 2005, at Florence Villa Nursing Home in Florence, Wis.
She was born on Jan. 11, 1912, in Iron Mountain, the daughter of the late Charles and Emma (Chapelle) Hoag. Dorothy was a lifelong resident of Iron Mountain. She attended Iron Mountain Schools including Hulst Junior High, Iron Mountain High and Dundon Business College.
She married Angelo Palluconi and he preceded her in death in 1977. She worked for the Carpenter-Cook Co. in Iron Mountain and Escanaba, United Garment Co. and Security Sportswear in Iron Mountain and at Quilliam Accounting and Lake Superior Lumber Co.
Dorothy was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and the Hospital League. She was an avid gardener, an excellent cook and enjoyed crocheting and knitting.
She is survived by her son, Frank (Benita) Palluconi of Pasadena, Calif.; two sisters, Ardis Geske of Wausau, Wis. and Gwendolyn Boccio of California; two grandchildren, Brett (April) Palluconi of Escondido, Calif. and Gabrielle Palluconi of Pasadena; and two grandchildren, Sarah and Ashley Palluconi.
In addition to her husband, Dorothy was preceded in death by a sister, Gladys and three brothers, Arthur, Edward, and Albert.
Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. today at the Tondin-Ross & Freeman Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be at 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home and at 10 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church. Msgr. James Kaczmarek will offer the Mass of Christian Burial.

Jerome Moller
FENCE, Wis. — Jerome Robert Moller, 72, of 729 Moller Road, Fence, Wis., died Sunday, May 29, 2005, at his home in Fence after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born Oct. 31, 1932, in Homestead, Wis., the second son of the late Charles and Veronica Pauline (Nichols) Moller. He was a Korean War veteran of the United States Army.
He married the former Delores M. Kanter on Oct.15, 1955, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Florence, Wis., and they have been married for 49 years.
Jerome was a member of St. Stanislaus Kosta Parish in Armstrong Creek, Wis. He also belonged to Post 3635 of Florence. Jerome was a past member and served for several years as a representative to state on the county conservation board.
He worked for the county forestry department and was an avid woodsman, gardener, hunter and fisherman. Gardening and grandchildren were his joy and giving rosebuds to his friends who visited.
Jerome is survived by his wife, Delores; his sons, Bruce of Goodman, Wis. and Girard, Perry and Jeremy, all of Fence; daughters, Mary Peters of Denmark, Wis., Lori (Tom) Harrison, Rose (Jeff) Sternhagen, Jodel (Daryl) Neuens and Charlene (Kent) Walstrom, all of Florence County; four brothers, Laurence Moller of Oshkosh, Wis., Keith (Mary) Moller of Manitowoc, Wis., Brian (Nancy) Moller of Tennessee and Kenneth Moller of Fence; 16 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; nieces nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Jerome Jr. and Mark and daughter, Ami and also by a brother, Raymond; a sister, Mary Rose Brammer; and a son-in-law, Robert Peters.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Thursday, at St. Stanislaus Kosta Catholic Church in Armstrong Creek.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. at the church. Fr. Ed Nowalkowski will offer the Mass of the Christian Burial.

Thaddea VanPembrook
AURORA,Wis.— Thaddea VanPembrook, 82, of Aurora, died Monday, June 13, 2005, at ManorCare Health Services.
She was born on Aug. 10, 1922, in Iron River, the daughter of the late Lester and Gertrude (Albert) Peppler.
Mrs. VanPembrook was a dietician at the V.A. Medical Center for many years, retiring in 1987. She enjoyed making crafts and spending time at the Breen Senior Center. Thaddea was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the National Association of Retired Federal Employees.
She married Edmund VanPembrook on Aug. 26, 1944, at St. Barbara Catholic Church in Vulcan. He preceded her in death on Aug. 21, 1989.
Thaddea is survived by three children, Susanne (Gary) Beaudoin of Aurora, Camiel VanPembrook of Pembine, Wis. and Linda VanPembrook of Kingsford; one brother, Melvin Peppler of Norway; one sister, Margaret Almon of Lake Havasu, Ariz.; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two infant children.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Fr. Michael Betley will offer the Mass of Christian Burial.
Burial will be in the Quinnesec Cemetery.

Raymond Klahn
FENCE, Wis. — Raymond Edward Klahn, 76, formerly of Fence, Wis., recently living with his daughter in Kiel, Wis., passed away Saturday, June 11, 2005, at his daughter’s home.
He was born on Aug. 15, 1928 in Glenbeulah, Wis., the son of the late Edward and Lillian (Rautmann) Klahn. He moved to Fence at the age of three. He attended grade school in Fence and graduated from Goodman High School.
After graduation he worked in the woods with Edwin Gustafson and went into the Army during the Korean War. He worked on the USS Sloan on the Great Lakes. He had his own sawmill and built many homes in the area. He worked at the Ford Forestry Center in L’Anse until his retirement.
Over his lifetime, he enjoyed playing guitar, gardening, reading, working with wood and spending time with his grandchildren. Ray was very intelligent and was willing to share his knowledge with anyone. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
On Oct. 16, 1955, he married Isabel Suszka and adopted her daughter Linda. They had four children together. She preceded him in death on July 27, 1998.
He is survived by his children, Linda (Al) Baumgart of Kiel, Wis., Myron Klahn, Mark (Lori) Klahn, Adam (Iris) Klahn, all of Fence, and Rae Bracke (Ed Jones) of Lowell, Wis.; his grandchildren, Michelle (Eric) Voland of New Holstein, Wis., Kimberly Dedering of Milwaukee, Jason and Jeffrey Klahn of Baton Rouge, La., Tyler Bracke of Mayville, Wis., Amber Walsdorf of Little Chute, Wis., Isabel Jones of Lowell, Jorge, Oscar, and Adam Klahn of Kingsford, Chad and Jeremy Baumgart of Nekoosa, Wis. and Jerry Revis of Fence; his sisters, Doris Chaney of Fence, Marcella Campbell of Iron Mountain, and Mary (Joe) Danielczak of Armstrong Creek, Wis., a brother-in-law Stanley (Marge) Suszka of Florence, Wis. and a sister-in-law, Nellie Suszka of South Milwaukee, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Kenneth Klahn.
