- E. T. WING was born November 13, 1822, in Addison County,
Vermont. He grew to manhood
- and learned his trade in Vermont, and subsequently lived
in various places previous to coming to Wisconsin in 1854. He
first stopped in Evansville, where he worked at his trade of
carpenter, building the Congregational church and other buildings
in that place.
- In January 1855 Mr. WING became a resident of Green County,
Wisconsin, settling on Section 2,
- Brooklyn, where he had previously purchased eighty acres
of unimproved land, upon which he has since resided, engaged
in farming, and also at different intervals working at his trade.
He now owns 205 acres of land adorned with good improvements.
- In September 1847 he was married to Sarah A. WARD, who was
also born in Vermont. They
- have three children: Allen J.; Genie, now the wife of Willis
SEARLES; and Ada. Mr. WING is a Republican and has held local
office.
