BITS FROM HERE AND THERE
Free school books were first furnished in the Dunlap Hollow School in 1902.
Voted at the annual meeting on July 1, 1903 and the motion made not to hold Sabbath school, or to have any religious work, in the school house. In 1904 it was voted to put in a drilled well.
Voted to build a new school house in 1915. A committee, consisting of Guy Dunlap, Leon Mennett, Ben Shower, John Ring, and Fred Kirch, was appointed to select the site of the new building and then to see about building it.
From the records of 1915 we find that Frank Schimitz received $584.50 for the building of the new school house. The material cost $1200, and the wire fencing and gates for the new school yard cost $46.65.
