MRS. GUY DUNLAP DIES SUDDENLY

Funeral rites for Mrs. Guy L. Dunlap, 77, Mazomanie elementary teacher and wife of a director of the Peoples State Bank, Mazomanie and secretary-treasurer of Halfway Prairie Creamery, who died unexpectedly Thursday at her home, were held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. in St. John’s Lutheran church, the Rev. Ted Borgen, Jr. officiating. Pallbearers were Irvin Beuthin, Louis Hoffmann, Walter Kirch, Clarence Mathewson, Norman Schoenmnn and Frank Schwanke. Mrs. Joseph O’Connell was the organist.

The Gnewikow funeral home was in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Dunlap was the former Mayme A. Kirch.

She was born in the Mazomanie area and graduated from Whitewater State College. She taught in the third and fourth grades in Mazomanie.

She was married in 1909 and the couple celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary in March, 1962.

She was a chapter member of the Orient chapter of the Eastern Star, a member of the Golden Age Club of Black Earth, which she attended the day before her death, and organist at St. John’s Lutheran church for 30 years.

Survivors include her husband; three daughters, Mrs. Kenneth Voss, Deerfield; Mrs. Harold Rochon, Mazomanie; and Mrs. Leonard Szudy, West Allis; a brother, Louis Kirch, Indianapolis, Ind.; and eight grandchildren.
