Middleton: Harvey C. Smith, age 74, of 7322 Hubbard Avenue, died on Thursday, July 18, 1974. Prior to moving to Middleton in 1959 he had farmed in the Town of Berry for many years. He married the former Thena Thompson on Sept. 21, 1927. Mr. Smith was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Middleton. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Donald of Waterloo and Norbert of Sauk City; a daughter, Mrs. Oscar (Vera) Lange of Middleton; three sisters, Mrs. Morton Johnson of Lake Delton, Mrs. Floyd Drake of Arena, and Mrs. David McCarthy of Calif.; 14 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the GRUBER FUNERAL HOME, Middleton at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 20, the Rev. James Ohlrogge officiating. Burial in Oak Hill Cemetary, Black Earth. Friends may call from 6-9 p.m. on Friday, July 19 at the funeral home.
