ANDREWS--Franklin Andrews was my 3rd great grandfather. He married Elizabeth Mary Guthrie 4 Feb 1847 in Iowa Co, probably Arena. I believe he died before June 1870 as Elizabeth was listed as "widow" on the 1870 Arena census. They had three children: Mary Eveline (my line); Florence; and Franklin David. I would like to find the parents, birth date, death date and burial information on Franklin. Have information on descendents that I'm willing to share. -- Kat Davis (bobkat@rosenet.net) (Posted 08/21/03)
STEBRITZ--I am trying to trace the history of my mother's father, Frank Joseph Stebritz. He was born in the 1880's and lived Algona, Iowa. He and his first wife, Bianca Blinkman, had 6 children, one of them being my mother. Bianca passed away shortly after their youngest child was born. He then married Gertrude Coleman, of Racolla, MO. She was widowed and had 10 children. Following their marriage, Paul Gerald (Jed)Stebritz was born. Please e-mail me at ideainc@netins.net and include the name "Stebritz" in the subject line. -- John Clark (ideainc@netins.net) (Posted 08/21/03)
WILKINSON--Our family history includes that Walter Wilkinson's first wife Bessie died in 1863, leaving a daughter named Jane. Census records from 1880 do not include a daughter named Jane in the Wilkinson household, only wife Emilly Addison Wilkinson, their three children, and a domestic servant named Etta Rogers. What was Bessie's maiden name? What became of the child? Also, any information about Etta Rogers would be appreciated. -- S. Symanski (symanski@graham.main.nc.us) (Posted 08/21/03)
KELLER--After a long search, I recently discovered in the 1880 US Census that my grandfather lived on a farm in the Black Earth area. He was the son of Hobart and Annie Keller. They had eight children, John, Anton, Hobart, Gertrude, Wendell, Mary, Annie and Michael. Horton and his two brothers along with their mother, Gertrude emmigrated from Prussia. They spent time in Iowa before moving to Wisconsin in 1846. They were the first settlers in Perry Township. They claimed three farms in the Spring Valley District and farmed them for an unknown amount of time. At some point, the two brothers, their families and their mother returned to Iowa. Hobart Keller and his family, on an unknow date moved to the Black Earth area and were operating a family farm at the time of the 1880 Census. My grandfather, Wendell Bernard, died when my father was three years old. He knew very little of his family's early years making my discovery of this large extended family a real surprise. I would like to learn if any of the descendants of the Hobart Keller family still live in the Black Earth, Perry, Mt. Horeb area.-- Raymond Keller(roark@apexmail.com) (Posted 11/18/02)
CARROLL--Three children in the family of Rodger Carroll and Mary Gallagher Carroll died in January of 1863. The children are buried with their parents in St. Barnabas cemetery in Mazomanie. They lived on a farm in Black Earth township at least at one time. I would love to hear of any potential news items that might help shed some light on what happened to this family. Was there a fire? accident? an illness? Rodger Carroll and Mary Gallagher Carroll had a large family. Three of their children died in January of 1863: Thomas January 7, 1863 age 7 years; Michael January 13, 1863 age 4 years; James January 13, 1863 age 2 years. The three children are buried with their parents in St. Barnabas cemetery just outside Mazomanie. I can't help but wonder how difficult it would have been to lose 3 children in one month. I didn't find information on a fire or epidemic during that time, though I'm sure there were always diseases which couldn't be cured. -- Marcia Gevelinger Bastian(bastians@tds.net) (Posted 05/05/02)

HAWLEY--Am looking to share information concerning Edna Elizabeth Hawley of Berry Township [her father was George Hawley who was the son of William Hawley who was the son of Samuel Hawley listed in this site] and any Amachers who may lived in Berry Township around 1900-1920. My Gramma was Edna Elizabeth Hawley [who married Alfred Amacher in 1919] and was the daughter of George and Lucy [Cooper] Hawley. When Lucy died in 1901 of diptheria, Gramma Edna was then raised by her aunt, Ellen [aka Helen] and husband Paul Eli Meiller. -- Kris Koshatka (krisko@mwt.net) (Posted 03/17/02)
