Reproduction of the 1900 Monroe City Directory originally published by
F. F. Turner of Monroe, Wisconsin. Ninety-one 5" by 7" pages have been
reproduced, 2 each on each 8.5" by 11" sheet, printed front and back.
Also includes 5 additional pages showing building by building who
occupied the buildings in the square area. Stapled, with card stock
covers.
Price is $12.00 plus $3.00 postage made payable to:

Proceeds will be used to do further research of Monroe and Green County as well as to
buy supplies for the archives of the Green County Historical Society.
Becoming A Village - Monroe, Wisconsin in the 1850s

The book explores the development of Monroe into a village as reported by the Monroe Sentinel newspapers
from the 1850s through the 1860s. It has 102 pages of typed newspaper articles followed by the index of those
articles. The second part of the book comes from census records. Included are the names of more than 2000
residents who lived in Monroe in 1860 two years after the village was incorporated.
It has a glossary explaining meaning of words we may be unfamiliar with today.
Cost is $15.00 plus shipping/handling of $5.00 for priority mail or $3.00 for media mail.
Profits from the book will be used to further the research and preservation of the history of Green County.
