Proceedings of the County Board Supervisors
The Forty-second annual meeting of the County Board of Supervisors of Juneau county, Wisconsin, was called to order at 10 o'clock a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 15, 1898, by J. M. Burch at the Court House in the city of Mauston, Wis.
County Clerk A. S. Wetherby presented the following list of members certified
to him by the Clerks of the respective towns, cities and villages in the
county as follows:

On roll call all members were present except John Gill.
The County Clerk then administered the oath of office to those present.
Motion was then made by J. M. Barlow that the Board adjourn to the council chambers of teh city of Mauston, in the old county jail building. Motion carried and adjournment made.
On assembling at the council chambers in the old jail building the county board of Supervisors was called to order by J. M. Burch, chairman, at 10:20 o'clock a.m., on the 15th day of November, 1898.
J. M. Barlow then nominated J. M. Burch for chairman. As there were no other nominations, motion was made by J. M. Barlow that J. M. Burch be elected by acclamation. Carried by a unanimous vote.
J. M. Burch then made a pleasant speech of acceptance and immediately called the Board's attention to the business in hand.
Motion made by J. M. Barlow that J. T. Hanson be appointed clerk and motion carried.
Motion made by J. M. Barlow that Fred I. Veeder be appointed telephone messenger as the board meets at some distance from the court house. Carried.
Motion made by James Timbers that Seth Peck be janitor of the rooms occupied by the board during this session. Carried.
County clerk Wetherby then read the rules of the board at the last session. Daniel Fowler then moved that the rules of the board at the last session be the rules for this session. Rules adopted.
On motion of J. M. Barlow a recess was taken until 1:30 o'clock p.m.
1:30 o'clock p.m. Meeting called to order by the chairman.
The county clerk announced the following committees as appointed by the chairman.
