Twenty members of the class of Piano and Vocal pupils of Miss Eva Hughes met at her house in a Recital Friday evening April 3rd.
A linen and silver shower was given Miss Charlotte Oertel at the home of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Smart in this city last Thursday night by the following of her lady friends, viz: Misses Ruby Smart, Viva Haskell, Lillian Sielstadt. A number of other lady friends were present. The decoartions were in yellow and white and the same color scheme was carried out in the refreshments. Miss Oertel has returned to Columbus to continue her duties as teacher in the public schools.
Miss Nora Hansen has employment at Fond du Lac.
Elmer Smith of Canada was a guest at the Henry Kelk home for several days.
Dr. L. M. Underwood, a veterinary surgeon of Tomah was recently killed near Valley Junction by the overturning of his automobile.
C. A. Leicht has gone to Belle Plain, Iowa, to attend the funeral of his cousin John B. Leicht who died in St. Mary's Hospital at Rochester, Minn., last Sunday, the result of a surgical operation.
Messrs. and Mesdames Ed. White, Wm. Taylor, Al. Klinker, Geo. White and the former's two sons were at Norwolk last week where they attended the 27th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. W. C. White.
