John Madsen, Pastor of Fountain Church, 1912-1921

John Madsen, the son of Mads L. Kothnes and Agathe G. Myklestad, was born on September 20, 1862 in Tysnes Township in south Hordaland County, Norway. He immigrated to the U. S. in 1883. John attended Augsburg Seminary from 1883-91 (C. T.). He was married in 1891 to Inga Emelie Olson. John was pastor at Devils Lake, ND, 1891-94; Sioux Rapids, IA, 1894-98; Duluth, MN, 1898-1902; and Florence, SD, 1902-12.

John came to Juneau County, Wisconsin in 1912 and served the Plymouth and Fountain Lutheran churches until 1921. He pastored at Baker, MT, 1921-22. John died on January 26, 1922.
