members worshipped in the basement of the Park Avenue Methodist Church. The first church building was built in 1855 and located at
52nd St. and 8th Ave. A new church building was built in 1882, but this one was burned to the ground in the famous Allen Tannery
fire in 1890. A third church was promptly built in 1890. The church's name changed about 1917 to Immanuel Methodist. Original members
