Ken Nordtvedt My g. grandfather Isaac Edward KOSIER left
Stephenson Co., Il for the "lead mines" about 1880 . Feel that, according
to family tradition, he may have gone to Lafayette County, WI. He next
shows up in Cherokee Co., IA about 1890. Any help with this would be
appreciated. Thank You!
Greg Sanders
I am looking for William SANDERS family birth records 1848-1857
at a town called "VITA GRAND". The names of the persons are William John,
Emilie, Francis, Joe, and Edwin SANDERS.
Steve Roberts Feb 1997 I
am looking for any DIERINGERS in Wisconsin. Mostly in
Dodge and Fondulac Co.'s but am interested in any other counties as well.
My great, great... was Norbert DIERINGER in Theresa Twp in Dodge
Co around 1850 - he had 3 other brothers Sigmund, Andreas, and Barnabas.
If you run across any I would appreciate hearing from you.
Bev Aldridge Feb 1997 I
am looking for THOMPSONS and PEDERSEN. Wiota is only
a possible location for them. An article in Landings Laget stated that
Wiota, WI was a location that many Land, Norway people emigrated to . I
have looked for them in Dane Co, WI and didn't have much luck locating
them in census or marriage/death records. Petrine was born Feb,
1834 in Land, Norway and emigrated to Wisconsin in 1849 with her parents
Peder HOVELSEN or could be called PEDERSEN? and married Kittle
THOMPSON sometime between 1850 & 1854 when their first child Betty
was born. Other children all born in WI: Anne, Julia, Gilman,
Lisa & two unknown children. They where suppose to have moved to
Swift Co. MN in 1878, but I only find Pertine and the children in the 1880
census. Kittle is nowhere to be found in Minnesota. I did locate
a K. THOMPSON in the Madison city directory for 1871/72 and in the
book Norweigian to America he was listed as a hoteler in Madison WI. This
information was given by his son Gilman. Not much to go on, but whatever
information that anyone can give me would be most appreciated.
THANKS!
