Lafayette County Genealogy Society
The Lafayette County Genealogy Society and a Chapter of the Wisconsin State Genealogical Society, is a non-profit organization. The Society was formed in 1984 to assist others in their genealogical pursuits; and to keep its members informed on genealogical data available to them through area, regional and national resources.
| REFERENCE LIBRARY
The Lafayette County Genealogy Society maintains a reference library in the Darlington Public Library, 525 Main Street, Darlington, WI. This material is made available in cooperation with Lafayette County Historical Society and Darlington Public Library.
Materials include microfilm, microfiche readers, photo-copier, microfilm of every newspaper published in Lafayette County, census records, family histories, photos, church and community histories, church records, county plat books and maps, cemetery records, etc.
Queries sent to us for research are cross indexed and are available for member use. Members of the society are available to do research for other members only.
The quarterly newsletter, ANCESTRAL DIGGIN'S, is published to keep you abreast of current happenings, family histories, area activities and current queries.
Members surname queries are placed in the newsletter and your membership entitles you to free query placement (s).

Lafayette County Genealogy Society compiles a list of families being researched by its members.
Our membership year runs from April 1 through March 31. Membership is open to anyone who is interested in genealogy.
