Zack T. BAGBY, Jr., a prominent insurance agent, who has by his square
dealing and excellent personality gained a host of friends in Langlade
County [Wisconsin], was born in the village of Gray, Ash County, North
Carolina, 29 February 1888, the son of Zack T. and R. E. (MASTIN) BAGBY.
When a boy he [Zack Jr.] spent his early school days at Gray, from where
he went to Trayer [Traer, Tama County?], Iowa, and for one year attended
school. Mr. BAGBY then went to Hartley [O'Brien County], Iowa, and
in 1915 graduated from the Hartley High School. He then went to Fulda
[Murray County], Minnesota, to become instructor in the Manual Training
department in the Fulda High School, in which capacity he served 1916-1917.
In the spring of 1917 Mr. BAGBY came to Antigo [Langlade County,
Wisconsin] and engaged in the life insurance business as a District Agent
for the Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company. Mr. BAGBY has
been very successful in Antigo. On 05 April 1916 he [Zack T. BAGBY,
Jr.] was married to Miss Mayme ROBERTSON, of Alden [Freeborn County], Minnesota.
To this union three children were born, one boy and two girls: Robert,
age four; Beth, age three; and Jene, age one.
Fraternally Mr. BAGBY is a member of the Benevolent Protective Order
of Elks, the Loyal Order of Moose, the Independent Order of Odd Fellows,
and the Knights of Pythias. The family attends the Methodist Episcopal
church. The BAGBY residence is at 224 Hudson Street. [p 316]
Mr. BAGBY's father [Zack T. BAGBY, Sr.] died in 1916, and is buried at
Transon [Ashe County], North Carolina. His [Zack Jr.'s] mother
[if not remarried, Mrs. R. E. (MASTIN) BAGBY] is a resident of Laurense
[Laurens, Pocohontas County?], Iowa. |
