Joseph BOLL, a well known Antigo [Langlade County, Wisconsin] lumberman, who has been a resident of the county since 1882, was born on 16 August 1878 at Clark's Mill, Manitowoc County, Wisconsin.  When four years of age he moved with his parents to Antigo, then a small village.  Here he grew to manhood, having during his boyhood attended the parochial schools and the Antigo High School.

From his youth he has followed the lumbering business, working at one time with the late B. F. DORR, first civil engineer of the city, as a surveyor and cruiser, for six years.  He was for twelve years associated with the Kingsbury & Henshaw lumber company as their foreman and since the reorganization of the Henshaw Lumber Company has remained as foreman of the plant.

Mr. [Joseph] BOLL was married in November 1899 to Mary YENTZ.  To this union six children were born.  They are Roy, born 25 June [Nicholas R.? 26 June 1901?]; Lila, born 04 August [1903?]; Iola, born 09 January [1906?]; Clayton, born 17 July; Marie, born 04 May; and Chester, born 04 September.

Fraternally Mr. BOLL is a member of the Eagles, and Antigo Lodge No. 662, Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks.  The [Joseph] BOLL residence is at 206 South Clermont Street.  Mr. BOLL takes a keen interest in sports, is a lover of the great outdoors, and delights in spending a day or two at a good trout stream or a week in the tall timber during the deer-hunting season.

[No years of birth for children are given in this biography.  "Nicholas R." in the pre-1907 Wisconsin Birth Index (Langlade County) could be "Nicholas Roy," known as "Roy."  The author of this text usually lists children in order of birth.  There are also persons with the surname BOLLA and BOLLE listed in the pre-1907 Index, but none match the given names of the children.  No other indexes (1907 and after) were checked, and no vital records were viewed by the submitter to verify the information presented in this biography.]
